Ladies and Gentlemen of the ZSDW
Give your congratulations to the next admin on the ZSDW and our brand new Commander-in-Chief:
Timberrattler!
He's been with us since 2009, and this promotion is long overdue.
Following the retirement of LJ and his many years of great service at the ZSDW I can think of no-one better suited to replacing him.
Timberrattler will be leading the ZSDW into 2013! I'm certain that only great things can come of this!
Best of luck Timber! We're all behind you!

Interesting Places of Interest
Let's make a collection of places where one can be inspired by days of yore. Living history museums are quite fun, They can be great places to learn specifics. Even the worst ones provide inspiration for further research.
My area (Delaware) has several that are wonderful
The Hagley Museum - http://www.hagley.lib.de.us/ The Brandywine River Museum - http://tinyurl.com/8748vea Wintethur - http://www.winterthur.org/ Iron Hill Museum - http://www.ironhill-museum.org/about_us.htm
Another that I stumbled upon
Stanton, VA The Frontier Museum - http://www.frontiermuseum.org/index.html

Myrtle Beach Scenario
Okay, first of all, I'm new here. Not that it matters I guess, because that has nothing to do with this thread...
So anyways, I've been thinking about scenarios a lot lately, so I'm probably going to be posting a few "What should I do?" threads around here. Zombies have always fascinated my imaginative side, and considering I'm going on vacation in June, what better way to prepare that ask some online enthusiasts what I should do in case an outbreak occurred?
So the location is Myrtle Beach. The Beach Cove Resort to be exact. The 8th floor to be even more specific. Here's a pic: http://www.beachcove.com/media/images/photoTour/140x6000/BeachCoveAerial.jpg
I'll be with my two younger siblings (I'm 16; they're 12 and 6) and my parents.
So if anyone wants to put forth the effort of researching the area and details about it, I'd appreciate some advice on what to do if I woke up on one sunny morning and there just happened to be zombies. Thanks!

Steriotypical teen without much exp.
So, I'm 19 and I lack much of the skills needed to survive a situation. What could I do to train myself so I would be more useful in a outbreak?

A Great Vacation
Freelancer47 mentioned going on vacation. This got me thinking, although his post was unrelated to the ZPoc, that many people have invested oodles of time into BOBs and armament and what have you, but what would happen if you weren't anywhere near home when the ZPoc began? So here is what I am asking of you...
1. What have you lost now that you are elsewhere? 2. Where would you have most likely vacationed to? 3. How far from home is it? 4. What do you know, as of right now, that you can do to react? (Locations, supplies, etc) 5. Are you going to make your way home or stay put? 6. Who are you likely to be with? 7. Have you got a new plan? 8. Whatever else you care to mention! =)
I am new to the zombie business, as far as devising plans and preparations. I am currently in Germany on an exchange and I live in Wisconsin, so very far. I got up at 2am because I couldn't sleep and thought about just this situation while eating toast with marmelade (it was tasty). I have pretty much nothing that's useful here. All the kitchen knives are for cutting not stabbing, therefore almost useless. I found a guitar in the basement and have decided that that is, while very stupid sounding, the only viable weapon in the household. I would then make my way to the garage and grab all the sharp and heavy gardening equipment and return to the house where I would move all the food (which sadly isn't made to last long) upstairs where I would hole on the second floor, using the third as a last ditch point. Fill the sink with water because the tub can't hold any. When a morning comes that seems safe, wait it out until almost dark and venture to another German's house that has far more food and retrieve some of my American friends. Then I don't know what. I can't go home. Too far. In all honesty, I either wouldn't make it out here or if I did I wouldn't be very well off.
