School Shooting Plan
LJ recently put a video about "Run, Hide, Fight" where the shooter goes into an office, and people plan for themselves.
So, I am not in a work place, I'm in a school. Now, I'll first explain the plan the school has put in place, and then say my opinion on it.
Plan is: Everyone says in their classes, and the teachers have black plastic bags that they tape in front of the door's window. Then, the strongest of the class move, for example, a heavy desk in front of the door. Then, after shutting the lights off, everyone silences their cellphones and does not call nor text message (which will most probably be a broken rule). There's a code to say that it's ended too.
Now, my issues with this:
-No escape route
-Unprepped persons could **** that **** up, I could name the people who will **** everything up. I'd knock them out first, but it's against the rules.
-There is no plan for if the shooter breaks into the class. The teacher replied to me "just close your eyes and hope for the best" (and I was like "I'd fight to death you scumbag")
-The plan is imposed, there's no "free-will", and you can't do what you want to save your life (even though I don't know of anyone in my classes who could block me, not bragging but I'm quite in shape, and I've had martial arts training)
And, as an added anti-bonus, they ask us to "all pile in the corner" which from the door's window the shooter couldn't see. OK, that's actually brilliant, but... we are trapped in a corner, when a shooter is there? Imagine the sh*tf*ck that ensues if he starts shooting in there... I think I'll get myself a classmate to take the bullets while I fake dead underneath, at least I think it's your only chance.
So, I exposed all of the plan, what do you guys think about it?

The Wiskey thread
"The whiskey shop" the best idea the government of Ontario has ever come up with is in full swing. I've been sampling assorted whiskeys from around the world! and it’s put me in a mood to talk whiskey! This thread is dedicated to that nectar of the gods Whiskey! be it whiskey stories, favorite whiskey brands, what to avoid or simply its general goodness ;)
I know it's not zombies but at least it isn't politics!

Scenario
Well it seems we've gotten off the spirit of this site we've forgotten zombies and the end of the world as we know it! Politics and guns can be tiring if endlessly discussed and are a spawning ground for misunderstanding and resentment. Carnack hasn't posted a scenario in a while (what a lazy butt eh? jk) so I thought I’d whip up this little one of dubious quality.
The hoard has receded and the world has begun to stabilize. The cost in life was staggering fewer than 20 million people survived on earth. The war lasted 15 years, most military supplies were exhausted. The cities lie in ruin. Fractured small settlements dot the landscape; big cities are a thing of the past. Agriculture has commenced and we are starting to rebuild what was lost. You are the leader of one of the larger settlements in your region you have 120 able bodied people. How will you rebuild? What will you build? What industry and trade if any will you have? How will you deal with potential shortfalls, disease and security? How will you acquire resources?

Zombies invade the government
Well on my weekly trip back from the vet I caught this on CBC ONE and thought I'd share. It's nice to see the canadian government discussing something important for a change ;)

If there were zombies, how long until we would know?
Personally I think the Army, or more specifically, the Government, would try to cover it up and people wouldn't find out until it was too late. For example, imagine there are zombies somewhere on the world right now, we wouldn't know until we encounter them in our own areas as the Government would cover it up to avoid a mass panic.

A little food for thought on Superbowl sunday
Seventy years ago today the USAT Dorchester was sunk off the coast of Newfoundland en route to Europe via Greenland by a torpedo fired from U-223.
The Dorchester was carrying 904 men 230 survived. Four men on this ill-fated ship chose to die so others could live. Four US army chaplains, known as the immortal chaplains, The Reverend George L. Fox, Rabbi Alexander D. Goode, Roman Catholic priest the Reverend John P. Washington, and the Reverend Clark V. Poling chose to die so that others could live. On the sinking ship they gave their life jackets to the young soldiers, stayed below decks, guided others off and attempted to keep everyone calm. A plethora of stories from that day of the actions of these men exists my favorite is of the Rabbi Alexander D. Goode giving his gloves to a panicked solider whom attempted to return to his cabin due to fear of the cold. The Rabbi gave the man his, telling him he had another pair. It was a minor story but one of my favorites of that day, but one that shows true compassion. To those about to die, to those lucky enough to survive the bitterly cold waters of the north Atlantic these men acted as a rock despite their own fears and impending deaths. They were lauded and honoured in their day but as time passed they have mostly been forgotten.
Today athletes will be falsely lauded as “heroes” on the oft forgotten anniversary of true heroism. We distort what a hero truly is in the modern world diluting the word until it has no meaning. A hero is someone who gives everything of themself without expectation, without reward, without vested interest and without hesitation. Let’s take some time to remember the true hero’s in our world rather than falsely labeling someone who is paid to play a game as such.

Gotta come clean
Been going through some changes recently and I need to come clean.
I have never owned a gun. Ever. Never possessed one.
I have lied in the past about owning them but I never did and now I'm coming clean on it.
Sorry <___>

Fun with Propaganda and conspriacies
Well it looks like everyone is suffering from a bit of propaganda overload and gun politics and getting a bit unnerved. To combat this serious tone and to relax a bit let’s have a little fun! I was reading the Obama thread and posting my insane conspiracies on over the top news articles when it hit me! It is time to have a little fun with propaganda and conspiracies!
Here’s what I want you to do come up with the most outlandish conspiracy theory or set of interconnected theories on anything your little heart desires! add a little propaganda slogan or two if you like! remember have fun and maybe a good laugh!
We need to save the site from the tedium of seriousness!!

Concerning Wetpaint - Please Read & Reply
Hello Everyone,
As you know, for the last few years, Wetpaint has provided little to no support to the community. The sites are slow, mass messaging remains broken, and there's no new features being added to the platform. This kind of treatment cannot be tolerated any longer. The Community Administrators on Wetpaint Central are asking you to support us in our ambition to bring the wikis back to their former glory. Our goal is to either convince Wetpaint to relinquish the reigns of the wiki servers to us and/or give us access to the Wetpaint account. Having access to the Wetpaint account would allow us to serve the wikis better than we do now. However, if we had access to the wiki servers, we would be able to fix many of the current bugs that the wikis experience. Not only that, but we would be able to add new features to Wetpaint. If you support us in our goal, we could be one step closer to fostering a better Wetpaint for all. Please reply to this thread with a post that explains your frustrations on Wetpaint and/or tells us that you'll support us in our effort to convince Wetpaint to hand over the platform to your trusted Community Administrators on Wetpaint Central.
If a moderator or administrator could feature this thread, that would be greatly appreciated.

My Island
My general idea of surviving involves an island in the Pacific Ocean. For obvious reasons I will not say the exact name of the island or location. This island is uninhabited but once was. It is quite large has lots of trees and animals. Not to mention fresh water. My plan is to round up my friends and sail or fly there, there is an island close to it with an airport. Although the island with an airport has a somewhat large population, around 2000 people, I doubt there will be many if any zombies due to its relation to the rest of the world. I have done extensive research about the area and it doesn't get many visitors, so that also backs up very few zombies. From the airport we will travel the 2 miles to the small docks near the city. Then take off for a 16 mile journey to the island. The island only has one downfall... it is somewhat mountainous, but I think my group can deal with its terrain. I live in San Diego so we are already used to mountains. San Diego is perfect for my island idea because there are many airports in my area and I live very close to the coast to boats would be an easy thing to acquire. Here is my list of things needed for survival on the island, keep in mind somethings are not necessarily needed but would be more of extra things for comfort: 5 Denali 115-Piece Home Repair Tool Kit
5 Black & Decker 9099KC 7.2-Volt Cordless Drill with Keyless Chuck 10 290-Piece Assortment Set - Organize Home and Workshop 5 Stanley 20-045 15-Inch Fat Max Hand Saw 5 Fiskars 7857 X15 23.5-Inch Chopping Axe 3 Wenzel Camp Grill 10 Cold Steel Latin Machete 20 J.A. Henckels 9-Inch Poly Sharpening Steel 4 Coleman 6-Person Instant Tent 5 Fi-Shock FW-00018D 250-Feet 17 Gauge Spool Aluminum Wire 3 Ames True Temper Eagle Garden Hoe With 47-Inch Fiberglass Handle 1859900 3 Ames True Temper Eagle Bow Rake With 53-Inch Fiberglass Handle 1888000 3 Fiskars 9668 Long Handle Digging Shovel Solar Panels

Zombie Pandemic Revisted
Zombie Pandemic
A script based game that is "Free to Play" It is a low key game for those who like to "build up". The goal of the game is to complete missions and build up your character. I like it because I can do a mission or 2 each day and not lose horrible amounts of time to the internet. The game has good persistence and allows player to work together in a limited fashion through "clans".
A nice feature that Clans have is safe houses. This is where almost all of the co-op play happens. Clan members can work together to build up locations where they can increase training caps, rest fastter, heal injuries, and gain food. They can be tricky.
The combat in the game is turn based. You may face 1 or even 7 enemies. Mostly they are zombies, though, there is the occaisonal looter or raider. Travel through the game is also something of a turn based system, at least nothing is animated.
I am in the game as Dare-ill. I will shortly be establishing a clan for ZSDW. If you already play this game set me up as a friend or drop a note here with your character name.
If you choose you can use the NoScript add-on in Firefox to get rid of adds and other useless scripts. The required scripts are from zombiepandemic.com cloudfront.com and possibly windows.net googleapis.com

Epic use of a 45
I stumbled across this video and thought I'd share it. It's not about zombies or survival but it's something I think people should see. It also has a nice .45 in it.

Less than Ideal...
Zombies have risen and your bug in location has failed. You were lucky enough to grab all your bug out gear and grab a vehicle. As you're bugging out you get hit by a speeding car and roll your vehicle.
Hours later you wake up and it's late at night. All around you cars and buildings are flipped, crushed, broken, and burning. As you crawl out of the vehicle and readjust your gear, you see that you have only 2 possible avenues. Every other route is for all intents and purposes, 100% shut off to you.
Time to choose hoss. Avenue 1 or Avenue 2? You can hear the moans of the undead growing louder. The shuffling feet are getting closer. Gotta move quickly.
Avenue 1: A school. Avenue 2: Wal-Mart. Or Asda if you're in the UK (thanks Crocodile)
Where to?
