It's not often that I find someone as knowledgeable or as studied on AR-15s as the guy in this video. He's got tactical down to a science. Great video series in general. The second video is really the best and shows what a guy who's learned everything he knows on the internet can do with a rifle.

It looks like a M1A, the civ version of M14 and it should be .308 not 30-06.

(Another) Scenario!
It's been 20 days since the Panic in your area. You are living in a smalll house with special fortifications - wood over the windows, bricks over the walls that are undefensable - and normal gates and doors. You have 4 of your best friends with you (including their skills). In the back is a 500 square foot crop garden currently growing multiple different types of food crop, as well as a stockpile of 25 MREs and 10 pounds of nonperishable food. You have a clean well in your backyard as well as a purified, 20,000 gallon pool. You and your members' gear consists of standard survival gear. In addition, the base has 4 rifles, 6 pistols (2 revolvers and the rest semi-autos), 2 shotguns, 10 knives, and 8 high-quality steel machetes.
One day you send out your scavenging team; they come back an hour early and say you must come with them. They drive you and everyone else a quarter mile outside of a large fortress, consisting of a 2 story brick house fortified with steel around the perimeter. The perimeter is patrolled day and night by at least 2 guards every 12 hours armed with scoped rifles. About once or twice every day you can see an armored jeep with some supplies leave; later in the day it returns with more. Weather they are looting abandoned places, trading with others, or raiding different bases you cannot be sure.
As leader of the group, you do... what?

So Foolish it just might work
I am watching the news eating a bowl of oatmeal to keep my fiber good and I hear that in sonme crowded city people have gone cannibalistic which is just another term for Zombie. I call three people, My lovely girl, one of my old friends who isn't my friend anymore ( You need someone who you can trust but don't care if they die) and my best friend. I tell them I'll meet them at their house so stay hidden ( except my old friend, i tell him wait for my call) I pick up my squeeze and my twin and bring them back to my secluded house (again arizona) and wait until the cities are more or less destroyed. I then call my old friend and ask him to meet us at Wal-mart.
Argument for Wal-mart: I know alot of people disagree with this but hear me out. This is a very large place and people say it can't be protected easily all at once but this place has iron gates at every entrance. If a zombie somehow manages to get through an entrance and you are too far to them the floors are tiled and the place is so large that the echoes will provide enough awareness to find a safe place and pick of the rogue. Wal-mart has. Bedding, Food, Stoves, Guns, Video Games, TV's, all resident evils. Toys, Toilet Paper... Everything you can ever need... also enough bottle water to supply at least thirty-seven camels. Anybody says costco or Sam's Club is better... I will destroy you. Another argument against Wal-Mart is that every foolish non-believer will go to Wal-mart... Is that a bad thing? you can assert yo$ur BA-ness and use them as bait or monkeys to do menial work. and if there are too many people let me ask you this... How much ammo do you have?
After we set up wal-mart Fallout 3 style in skimpy raider clothing I plan to have my best friend die first in a security breach. Then my old friend in a suicide mission to help hold of the giant horde while me and my girl escape vis government helicopter ro a safe haven.

oh brother.
Really come on, improvised weapons Canadian edition, this overall is pretty sad. Give me a couple hours in Canadian Tire and I could come out with improvised fire arms, thermite grenades, and a miltitude of far better weapons than this article explains. Seriously man what the hell ins with the flaming Syrup?? Besides it requires a microwave? And glueing and duct taping stuff to a hockey stick but after one solid hit its gonna fly apart.

i think we should gather a consensus and display the results of what state or territory of each country that ZSDW members live in or as personal as some would like the info to be. this way that all members can get a decent idea of how many like-minded, intelligable zombie hunters are out there (maybe we could include survival ratings after a certain cool test is completed)
