  • Choosing a leader. So it is a while since SHTF and TEOTWAWKI is true. Your fictional group(list all possibilities and situations please :) ) now has to choose a leader, since democracy does not really work in crysis situations uless you communicate at the speed of light. But that leader has to be someone from this site :D.
    Who would it be?
In what situations would it perform best?
    Why?

Personally my top 2 would be either PedroAsani or Devilnuts. They both are smart and can make the right choices, loved by the crew, somewhat tolerant and work well under pressure.

It is 4 AM and i cannot think right now, so just give me your ideas(people).

  • Next Colony Issue. Since I've been here, I've learned and asked questions on plenty of colony issues and I have been pleased so far with the results. One issue that I haven't seen delt with is religous diversity in a colony. In a smaller group, these matters go pretty much un-noticed, but in a larger social context, it would be more noticable as people tend to gather around those with similar beliefs.

Let us say that you are a leader of a colony of 100-200 people. Times have be rather easy for the past few months with the harvest being plentiful and a low number of Zeros (LJ's name for Zeds that I'm starting to use) and raiders. Finally, your group has been able to relax a bit and live a reasonably normal existance Post Apoc. A group of your colonist come to you and ask to build a house of worship.

    How do you respond?
What are your questions or concerns about this situation?

I know this topic can become a bit heated, so ask that we all be respectful.

  • Central "City", The Regroup Plan What if i suggest, to the people on this site, that when z-day comes and goes will you be interested in being apart of a bigger and stronger group?

Would you even be able to leave you location that seems safe and has protected you so far?

I purpose that the people of this site gather at a single location in the united states, the ones not in the us or Canada will need to make there own locations.

I put forth the idea of what a large amount of people can accomplish, and how such a force will come together.

Say this site has 10,000 people, 10% survive z-day and have the intention of following the regroup plan, only half of them don't leave the safety of there formalizations or die on route, the other half survive the trip and have one other person with them. That is a force of 1,000 people bent on survival!

I suggest we gather in Michigan, it snows in winter, has fertile soil, is surrounded on 3 sides with lakes, and has a large amount of freshwater. I of course suggest gathering at my planed fortified position, but other locations nearby need to be suggested in-case my plan fails or if one location overcrowded. Also locations where people can gather across the united stated on the way to Michigan, for resupply and a larger-force may be better to travel in.

Also a time-frame will need to be made where it will be optimal to start traveling long distances, and so the people will arrive in a little trickle so we can expand our food and other safe areas to accommodate the army of "men" (not to put down women, but tough mo fos you know?).

Any suggestions? Volunteers? Tough Mo Fos? This is a rough thought so i would like the people to help sharpen this sword. The army of the living to do battle with the dead for all man kind!

  • Independent Military Associations To keep a leadership you need to maintain a proper leadership structure and have well defined leadership roles. this can be done in a military association with dirt at the bottom and gold at the top. You need a lot of people but it can be done and it can get a lot done.
