  • You Ever Have That One Tool... You just love to use? Don't even need an excuse.
Yeah I could use this chef's knife to cut up this steak...or I could pull out my effing big hunting bowie and grin maniacly as I slice up this innocent delicious hunk of meat.

For me it's my Dead-On Wrecker Bar. I will use that sucker for everything and enjoy the heck out of doing so.

    That one's mine. What's yours?

  • Downgrading BOB, Upgrading Survival Chance! For the last few days I've been running around the interwebs comparing prices on various items because pay-day is closing in fast and I need to work out how much to leave in the bank for gear and upgrades to my BOB...but i came across an interesting article on a survivalist website which talked about "Urban Survival Bags" and how military style MOLLE, PLCE and ALICE packs could paint a massive target on me saying:

"There's a disaster and this guy looks like he might be prepared! Maybe he has food and water!"

So I've decided to change-up my gear a little to increase my initial chances of survival, but in order to understand my thinking you need to know the basic outline of my Bug-Out Plan:

1.) Grab BOB and if time GF and GET OUT.
2.) 'Hoof It', Get a Lift, or Public Transport to Primary RVE which is Family-Owned Public House in Rural Location only about 6-10 miles from my home depending on route.
3.) Move on to Primary BOL from there with family and friends.

So you see...I can change-up my gear considerably because my Primary RVE is secure, local, and family-owned...meaning I can drop my real on the attic stairs at my RVE without fear of it being stolen/looted/tampered with, and build myself a smaller BOB/Urban Survival Bag which just has to get me out of town and into the country.

So what I'm planning to buy is a heavy-duty canvas 'Student' style bag...it's essentially a draw-string dump sack with a pocket on either side and a top cover which has a carabiner-style fastening. It's 18L and looks casual, and I've seen students travelling too and from college with them on a daily basis so it won't scream "I CONTAIN GOODIES SO MUG MY OWNER!" as much as my BOB does...
SO...firstly: What do you guys think? Good Idea? Bad Idea?
Secondly: What do i need for my USB? And what do I need for my BOB at my Primary RVE?

  • weapons dude, you have over 40lbs in weapons alone and if you plan on having any ammo you can boost that to 80 without any of the other stuff
