Here is a link which many may find interesting. If you've ever done research into parasites or venoms which inflict zombie-like symptoms on it's prey, or even suicidal tendencies, you may have heard of this parasite.
It can only procreate in the intestine of a cat. So when it finds a rat, it alters its brain chemistry. Cat's spray a scent to mark their territory, which normally rodents are terrified of. This parasite reverses that and makes rats linger in the sprayed area, making it get eaten by a cat, therefore giving the parasite an opportunity to reproduce in said cat's intestine.

Anyway, now it appears that women living with cats are 1 1/2 times more susceptible to suicidal thoughts and/or actions....coincidence?? I think not.
Though I can't see the direct link between a human owner dying and the parasite getting into the cat, (yet) maybe it's just a by-product of having the parasite. It makes rats suicidal, maybe it happens to humans too. After all, evolution doesn't actually plan ahead in this style. Perhaps one day it will make the cat really want to eat its dead owner.
I think this MAY be possible to evolve into something which bests humans totally.
Parasites, diseases, viruses etc all evolve much quicker than us humans. We have urged them along with chemical warfare (superbugs like MRSA for example) but the bottom line is they are much more simple than us, and their generation gaps are millions of times faster than ours, AND there are potentially millions of offspring for each individual organism, allowing for much, much quicker adaptation.
p.s. Please let's not make this an evolution vs creationism thread.

A Possible Way to Get Rid of the Virus?
So, I saw a troller's thread on using rubbing alcohol to kill the virus. That got me thinking, is there any possible way?
A way I thought of goes like this:
-As soon as bit wrap cloth or rag tightly near bite.
-Give person morphine or anesthesia.
-Grab knife, cut off the limb.
-Wrap in many, many, many layers of cloth.
-Wait for patient to wake up. If person is re-animated kill them, if not keep close eye for 2-3 weeks.
The reason I chose these steps is because warping a rag around the limb prevents or retards blood flow and this may stop the virus for spreading and may make the arm go numb, useful if you have no morphine or anesthesia. Those chemicals make the person fall asleep or feel no pain. The cloth prevents too much blood loss and cutting off the limb may cut of the virus with it. If person is re-animated you kill them as normal and if not you still keep an eye on them just in case. What do you guys think?

how long will it take the zombie virus to spread
it is a good point the one thing about a virus is the fact it is easy to get like the black death in the dark ages where 1/3 of Europe's population died in a short time. anyone has and idea of how long please tell me

If there was an infection.. How we the world react?

I have heard from a reliable source that in a secret military base, they are holding a virus that causes symptomes like a zombie virus. I believe what this person has said and I just wanted other people to know that there is something that can cause a zombie outbreak.

I think this is relevant to this site, as many people seem to think that the most likely cause of a zombie outbreak would be a man-made virus. There are many who would say that swine flu was released deliberately to cause a pandemic and make billions from the vaccine.
Who knows what viruses these b*stards are capable of making and willing to inflict on the public? I'm not saying they did, but i'm sure as hell very open to that possibility.

Dispose that body
We discuss a lot on how to kill zombies. What guns (or other weapon) we'd use, how we'd do it, and how awesome it would be.
One thing I've never heard is what you plan to do with that disease-ridden body once it's on the ground?
Depending on the type of infection, this could be a biological hazard to anyone being too close to it. I'm seeing some sources that say rabies can last over 24 hours after the body was deceased.
This could provide problems depending on where the zed was taken down at, and how many there were. Would you want the thing rotting in your back yard? How would you dispose of it in your area without risk of contaminating yourself?
This may just be a common sense question, as burning is, no doubt, the best method I can think of. If anything else, I believe this should be a good thought for those who plan on rushing out, guns blazing with Drowning Pool playing in the background.

Will this really happen?
Will zombies actually happen. I mean that the world is so far in medicine, that fact that virus that causes a fever to kill brains cells enough to only primitive and violent actions and cause an allergic reaction to a human to cause swelling and/or make a tint in the skin (gray or green) will not break out. The UN would take precautions to destroy it, and if used as a weapon, they would have a solution after the infection. (The crazies) z-day will probably not happen. Please state your ideas of this matter.

Ok Im curious to know if anyone has thought about the specifics of a viral z-day. As in transmission, effect, viral design, etc, etc, etc. Cause it seems like theres all talk about how to kill zombies, which Im all for, but no want to understand how they would work.
