  • Couple of questions for the Americans Though the answers to these questions are of little practical significance to me given that I live in the UK, I'm still interested to know people's thoughts...

    1) In the old British spy show The Man From UNCLE, the Walther P38 is modified with a dtachable scope, extended barrel with silencer and a stock, basically making it into a small collapsible rifle. Do these modifications exist for the P38?

    2) What are people's opinions on the MATEBA Model 6 Unica? I think it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing handguns I've ever seen, but how about it's use?

    Thanks

  • This thread is not valuable, just asking opinions again. Probably getting tired of hearing me ask "what gun should I buy" but that's all I've got to talk about right now since I can't think of a truly riveting debate to start.

As I've stated elsewhere, I'm in the market for a 9mm. To free up money for this 9mm, I am thinking of selling one of my .22 pistols. I have a Walther P22 with a fake suppressor, and I recently came into a Ruger MKII. The Ruger is more accurate and feels more durable, so I'm thinking of dumping the Walther. With the tacticool faux silencer, I may be able to pull $350 out of the Walther if I find the right Mall Ninja to sell it to.

Just bouncing ideas around on a boring night, so feel free to ignore my ramblings.

  • Walther P38 I was just at a gun shop that opened up about a month ago. While I was looking around I saw a Walther P38 in one of the cases. The owner told me it was a 1943 Mauser- built model. The numbers are matching and the condition was really good. All the stamps were present.

I told the owner that I never owned a gun before. He was pretty busy but took the time out to tell me a bit about the gun and let me handle it. There wasn't anything about it I didn't like.

My main question is about ammo. I know the P08 that it replaced was temperamental about the kind of ammo it takes. Does anyone know if this is true to the P38?

  • P38 Model : Walther P38 The Walther P38 is a handgun with a long, respectable history behind it. It was created as a cheaper, more robust alternative to the Luger in 1938; while the Luger P08 was a fine handgun, it was finely machined (read: expe
