quick thoughts.
it is commonly accepted that post-zday money will be worthless, however consider keeping pound coins and/or trolley tokens in case you need to 'borrow' a shopping trolley or three to transport things. (bear in mind it's not entirely uncommon to find a supermarche outside of cities)
alternatively wheelbarrows are a quieter, more manouverable alternative to shooping trolleys. EDIT: ammunition: count your rounds, compare that number to the local population, account for misses how many undead can you convert to re-dead? finally something for pre-zday, if you have not already done so spend a day or a week (however long you need or want) to scout out your local areas, because if you can't make it out of your hometown or city you happen to be in, knowing a few safeish places nearby is always a good starting point if you don't have a backup plan.

My Variant of the end times.....
Although I agree with you there on many points,I believe society would not crumble as easily as you say.I reckon,if the Military/LE/Security forces become ruthless in their quest to stop the virus(i.e destroying densely infected areas with say, nuclear weapons or heavy bombardment) then they might still survive in a slightly diminished manner.
They could quarantine or abandon entire states/provinces/cities depending on the situation. They could either hole up in bastions of civilization or hole up the zees.
Small groups of vigilanties, raiders and thugs would thrive in the infected areas.

...And then what?
I like what you've done so far, I do agree that this is what would happen Pre-zed day. But what happens next? I was kind of hoping for some timeline of what happens after it, and as far as I can tell all you really explain is what would happen before the day (which really is just if not more questionable than what will happen after).
Prehaps make points on say - One week after? -One month (28 days later)? -One year? -Ten years? Just what I think :)

Weapons of Choice?
Just like, the top ten weapons you would choose to take with you. I don't know much about which guns would be best so I'm trying to read up on it and I thought I'd ask for opinions.
A lot of the things I've been reading have said a lot of different things and I'm really wondering what the absolute basics would be. I am completely clueless when it comes to weapons so any explination would be great. Also, what types of clothing and misc items would you classify as essential?

Traps
Hello, so something I think most people don't consider enough are tricks and traps, as well as purposes of them. For example, if you've played Metal gear solid 3, you may have been spotted because you tripped a rope that was hooked to wooden bells that alerted nearby a sentry. Think about the movie Conan, and the skirmish that happened in grave yard, where spiked arms were flung with enough force to pierce metal armor.
So consider traps more openly then mines or barbed wire, because would barbed wire really hinder a zombie motionless since it feels no pain and doesn't care if it's flesh is ripped? Would mines possibly alert other zombies in the vicinity by the sound of an explosion, will you be able to find them/ set them up? Mechanical traps are an interest of mine in zday scenarios. They are generally silent, the kill, you can reset them with little maintenance and are more practical to come by (wood, rope, etc.). SO THEN, If you have ideas of tricks or traps, share them here! Tell us how they work, where to find them, how to make them, and any other advice you can give!!

What is your biggest weakness?
Several threads have asked what skills or benefits you have. However, what do you think it your biggest weakness if Z-Day were to come?
I think I know mind: I have a very deeply-inground sense of right and wrong, and I will not tolerate it if something violates that. If I see someone being beaten or raped, I'll fight my hardest to end it. This could wind up getting me in trouble.
What do y'all think?
EDIT: I just thought about it. It sounds like I'm trying to get the jump on people to take advantage of them. I didn't mean it that way. I understand if you don't want to post a weakness.

Post ZDay Mental Health
Ok, its been 3 months since the outbreak, everything is in ruins, and you are safe and sound fortified with your party or comfortably safe and on the move to find a worthwhile community. All utilities are out, and radio chatter has been quiet for weeks. Now, what do you do?
It seems to me that the biggest threat to those properly prepared isn't infection, but developing mental sickness from isolation, depression, etc. From what I've read from raiding priority guides, people seem to leave out entertainment. Food and water is obviously important, but what do you do when someone starts acting weird and begins to effect the moral of the party and open it to unnecessary risk. I personally havent figured out a plan, other than try and grab some books or a board game or something while raiding for supplies, but if anyone has a solid plan i would love to hear it, and if anything I hope this draws attention to something you would have ignored otherwise. Sorry if this is a repeat post, i was unable to find much about it.

Tools
Dont just think that the hammer in your hand is a weapon... If you think correctly and pack what is needed all sorts of things can be multi-purpose and your backpack will be alot lighter.
FIREMAKING is a good skill to have, what happens once your lighter runs out or the matches become all wet? Firemaking can be quite useful.
Though usually only different branches of the military teach it ( or the Mob) SURVEILANCE can be quite useful... not much your eyes have in advantage over theirs... wouldnt it be a better sight, more cover and a greater view up in a tree where it is also easy to see for hundreds of metres around? If you can see a zombie... good chance that they can see you too.
