Surplus rifles
Dec 31 2007, 5:50 AM EST
Got my M1938 Mosin for $70 and a 350round spam can for $30 at the good old bill goodman's gun and knife show. It was a good buy, but if we are talking surplus rifles check out a Lee Enfield Mk I, II, or III .303cal. I got mine for $200, it is one of the smoothes bolt action surplus WWII weapons i have ever fired, and its deadly accurate...even at great distances with just the iron sights. The best part is unlike the german's K98 and the russians mosin varriants whos internal magazine can hold 5 rounds the Enfield can not only hold 10 rounds but the magazine can be detached for quicker reloads in a combat situation. One of the only problems i have run into is not the availability of the .303 round but the price. Non wholesale its about $11 to $13 for a box of 20...but if you can find the stuff surplus go for it cause its a damn fine gun! 5  out of 6 found this valuable. Do you?
