How about a river island?

I know this one place, small island, steep banks, swift, deep water. Place takes coordination to get to from the water. Only one small bridge, easily barricaded. Several boat dock that would need to be dealt with. Room for several big gardens. 19  out of 20 found this valuable. Do you?

sound slike a great place. the currents would keep zombies from walking accross to you though maybe you could get some from upstream washed up. Think if you put a nice high wall on that side of the island you would have a great thing there. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

that is one of the best retreats that you can have. way to go for finding it but the only thing do other people know about the island if so there could be a fight. as the person above me said possibility of them washing downstream and hitting the island. Build a wall about seven to eight feet high and build scaffolding behind it so that you can check the other side of the wall very very often I mean like once an hour. The other thing you need is an escape get enough boats to move your people comfortably with all supplies (extra gas ammo guns rope food fresh water etc.) and have the escape plan ready to go at all times but other than these things you have a great plan give yourself a high five go on you know you want to : )

A good place for a temporary fortress would be a bank. Most have block walls, bullet proof glass, sturdy doors, desk to block doors, and centrally located for scavenging. If your traveling around and need a place to crash a couple of days or have no were better to go. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

We dont know how zombies might mutate. Its possable that Zombies swiming becomes a problem, and birds could be a problem too. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

No resources. If you know the Zombie type is the normal, slow, stupid one, AND you know mobs of paniced idiots are drawing their attention away, then feel free to hide and wait for the million plus Z-count mobs to leave the area, then leave asap. Of course, its possible that they might be more likely to investigate a bank over a home, so, your decision 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I have to admit, Byates, that this IS a maritime solution I could get behind, provided you ringed the island with fencing. Even if the fencing is half-underwater at hight tide (BTW, that would actually be a good thing), this is an idea worth exploring in great detail. Do you find this valuable?
