Zombies / Brains
Feb 18 2008, 6:51 PM EST Zombies do not go after brains. Get that out of your head. They will eat and munch on anything they see. Remember, when you see zombies feasting on another person, it's because they couldn't get away from the horde of undead. That person will not become a zombie. He is dead. The only reason more zombies appear, is because someone is bit, and then gets away and hides somewhere safe. This gives the virus a chance to kill the host and re-animate it. A zombie won't just go up to someone, bite them, and then walk away. A zombie wants to feed, and if it can, it will. Regardless of the virus inside. I hope you find this bit of information useful. 11 out of 11 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Zombies / Brains
May 11 2008, 10:32 PM EDT A weakened airborne strain of Alzheimer’s Syndrome could be deliberately developed; Cannibalism, in Human Society, is rare, but does occur when foodstuffs drop to an unsustainable level. This is in part caused by the brain actually SHRINKING, at least temporarily, due to malnutrition. The cerebral cortex, or “lizard brain” which governs issues like breathing, eating, and breeding, takes a far more dominate role. (The “upper brain” is what separates Humans from animals, orc, mutants, and skaters.) If the disease were to totally erode the upper brain but leave the lower brain intact, at least for an extended period of time (say a few months), then yes, a true-to-movie zombie could really happen. More ominously, when certain particularly vicious viruses reach a certain critical mass, rather than forcing red blood cells to replicate it, the viruses try to force flesh to do so, causing the flesh in question to ‘slime out’ (Source (“The Hot Zone”, Richard PRESTON/Random House).
