RE: Warehouse,
Mar 8 2008, 12:32 AM EST are you talking about shipping containers? if so you might want to consider the possibility of Zeds climbing on each other to get to you. your probably thinking that the zeds wont be that smart but i would rather over-prepare than follow a advice from a guide written by someone with no "real world" survival experience. RE: Warehouse,
Jun 11 2008, 8:28 AM EDT "supply bins? are you talking about shipping containers? "generally a decent idea. But instead of a general warehouse make it a walmart dc.food an suplies for several stores in one spot ussually in out of the way areas between major cities. trucks, trailors generators and fuel on site surronded by fences an security cameras in stalled. let all the idiot go to the store whle you go to the source. RE: Warehouse,
Jun 11 2008, 12:45 PM EDT You have the start of a good plan, but the use of cargo containers (that’s what they’re called) does present the logistical problem of moving them where you want them, then assembling them how you need them. It would be simpler and more profitable to you to simply lock down the warehouse (cover the windows, etc) and wait it out that way; Use the containers as your fall-back point in case of breakthrough (the “keep” to your “castle”). RE: Warehouse,
Jun 11 2008, 1:39 PM EDT walmart dc's have tractor trailos on site ussually 20x as many trailers+ they have yard dogs to move trailers around quikly.. you 'd want to take the whole place not just the warehouse though since on their yards they have garages to repair trucks an trailers. so a quik solution as long as the fence holds use the time to dis mantle some trailersfor added sideings to cover the lower part of other trailers an then circle the perimeter. leave at lest two ways out in the form of a porticle though. after that you'll need to reinforce under neath the perimeter trailers. So start digging if the dc is in a industrial park aim a tunnel to a building that may have stuff that is needed. That way you can pack the dirt under the trailers an fortify the hasty sideing.
