My BoB
Mar 12 2008, 4:58 AM EDT | Post edited: Mar 12 2008, 4:58 AM EDT
I have two, one for camp, with essentials, and one for periodic raids to get new stuff.

My raid bob is pretty much this:
Webtex combat vest (with water bladder)(in urban camo)
Maglight (enough batterys to supply)
first aid kit
a custom built precision rifle
a box of ammo for said rifle
scope for said rifle, featuring IR and NV abilities
2 energy bars

My main BoB is this:
85Ltr Bergen in woodland camo,
same rifle as i take on raids
8 boxes of ammo for said rifle
1 change of clothes
2 spare socks (pair) and boxers(vacuum pack)
3 days water
water purification tablets
first aid kit
10 energy bars
3 days canned foods
lightweight booklets on edible plants
wire for snares
camo poncho
hat in same cammo as poncho
flint/steel
crank radio
blanket
shake light
pencils/paper
binnoculars
hatchet
multitool
dehydrated fruit (enough for 3 days)
IR/HV/NV monocle with head straps

More added later if I can work out essentials

I live right by a forest so i can hopefully just slip away into it.

By "raid bag" do you mean "scaveging bag" or "I'm going to rob other survivors bag?" Because the latter would find a cozy home in my rifle sights.

You have not brought any food that can sustain you. Consider dumping some of the nonessential items (or giving them to someone else) and trading them for a few MREs. An MRE can sustain one person for an entire day if they aren't too mobile.

Other than that, your BOB looks great. You should make a page on your survival plan; I bet it'll be good.

One of the good Bug out Bags I've seen. I like how you think of the necesseties such as a change of clothes and socks. I tell you what, after going 20 miles uphill and downhill on my Troop's ironman hike a pair of dry socks is just what the doctor ordered! Do you find this valuable?

Lol @Vance

I just wanna know what kind of NV system your running. What generation? I have a 1st gen and though I wish I had a better one it still works out to 75-100 yards just fine.
You got batteries to run that thing too?
