Semi-Automatics
Mar 19 2008, 11:18 AM EDT I don't understand what the point would be buying a ridiculously expensive and difficult to obtain automatic rifle, when you can just as easily by a $400 Ar15 and bump-fire it. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

A sub-gun is good for full auto becouse its meant to be used in close. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Semi-Automatics
Aug 31 2008, 1:37 AM EDT Well, first of all, that should not BE an issue, since the United States (which, when if comes to firearms, is the most permissive in the First World) does not allow civilians to own automatics; Semi-autos are fine, and another subject. Some states, however, do not allow the AR-15 because of the configuration of the gun; It’s puel a style over substance debate, of course, but the morons that scream loudest managed to lie, cheat, and bribe their way into convincing (or threatening) the various state legislators into banning “specific” designs (the AR-15 being top of their hit list). I actually watched a “news” report of this tiny little girl, buck fifty soaking wet at a t-shit contest with jackets “fire” an AK-47 on fully automatic (can’t fake that part) FROM THE HIP and it SEEMED stable; Until you looked at the video a second, very careful, time, and you realized she’d run a pair of CABLES from the barrel to the ground in an attempt to defraud the public (it held the barrel down, all she had to do was hold the but down with her body weight and it “looked” like she’d really made her point). Ironically, enough, the AK-Series is effectively OFF the ban list, since they came up with configs that keep them essentially (functionally) unchanged, and still meet the ban criteria. And the way the media portrays crimes and guns... Many people of my generation, especially in my area, think firearms are bad things that have no use in this era and some are even worse... Fed vs State laws
Sep 1 2008, 12:16 AM EDT "HeavenlySword: Guess I had that coming to me...AJR, Federal Law based off of '34 Miller Decision at Supreme Court gave us the National Firearms Act, and the $200 Transfer Tax, and the resulting Federal Regulation of MG/DD/SBR/SBS/AOW firearms. Various States have differing Laws, some flat out banning MG's, others allowing the full gamut of arms. http://www.subguns.com/laws/laws.htm HTH *EOM* Do you find this valuable? |

Sep 1 2008, 12:41 AM EDT Building an operable automatic weapon is fairly simple, although most crude designs will jam often, Post-z day you will have much more luck building an automatic than finding one somewhere, especially around here Do you find this valuable? |
