I just bought the book today and then found out about this thread. The book is so much better so far, even though I am only about 75 pages in. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Also, isn't it vampires instead of zombies in the book vs movie? Driving wooden stakes into a zombie would just piss him the hell off. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I believe it would...as much as you can actually piss off a zombie. I haven't read the book though now I think I should ASAP.

But, one comment about his defenses...pretty damn good. If I could that would be my dream fortress. Steel doors over the windows, weapons located in every corner of the house. (Although I would be hesitant to place the majoirty of them by the front door. Just in case somethign went wrong with zombies somehow breaking it down.) Explosives surrounding the immediate area and enough suppluies and power to maintain oneself for quite a long time. Although the downstairs lab would be wasted on me since I have no knowledge of biochemistry or engineering.

if u want a movie that follows the book I am legend, go for "The last man on earth" staring vincent price. Its an old black and white and he plays the part well 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

oh yeah. the film as a stand alone was quite good. but had nothing on the book what so ever. When that sheila turned up to save his ass, i thought' 'hang on! there not vampires, whats the score?' ive read the book a few times, and dont get me wrong, i like big will, but he is not Robert Neville. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. YES! That movie actually very closely resembled the book, though my copy of it is scratched, so I can't watch the end. I'll have to look it up some time.

Another good one is "The Omega Man". It doesn't stick as close to the book as "The Last Man on Earth", but it is still very good.

The book is far superior to the movie. The movie was decent but the book was better in every way. Do you find this valuable?

If you ever read the book before you watch the movie, you will always be utterly disappointed. I'm glad that I went to go see the movie in theaters, think it's awesome, and then borrowed the book from a friend to realize that it makes the top ten books I've ever read.

I liked both the movie and the book, and I'd like to keep it that way.
