Although the concept of 'zombie pig men' might freak one out a bit, it should be noted that humans have recieved the hearts of pigs in the past and as far as we know, their bites have no power to create the undead. I fail to understand the benefits of transplanting a live pig heart versus an undead one, except for ease of access. Sill, this is a major step forward in the field.

hmm... maybe we should start creating a page for evidence of zombies. This is a major stride in medical science. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

I couldn't read the page as it is dead, but here is one about scientists reanimating dogs.http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/11/magazine/11ideas_section4-21.html?_r=1 Also, I tried to search if this was already posted, but did not find it. The group doing the research is the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research at http://www.safar.pitt.edu/index.htm. First step towards a Zombie World. Do you find this valuable? |

"i think Marsden is right....Pay attention to the dates, you two. This thread is upwards of a year old. And everybody else that's wondering why the blog post is dead, y'all note that, too. sindevil, interesting links. I don't find it disconcerting as yet, seeing as the critters were "dead" and stayed that way without a lengthy procedure, but it's still very interesting. . . Do you find this valuable? |

And everybody else that's wondering why the blog post is dead, y'all note that, too.I almost missed the date on the OP, thanks. About sindevil's links, I agree. It was a medical procedure, not a comet from outer-space, nor a virus, nor Hell simply ' filling up'. They awoke as though they had been asleep, a procedure which many humans have gone through. By way of defibrillator. Do you find this valuable? |

"but they didnt go zombie like i dont think it was scary in fact sort of reminds me of those cryogenic labs in futurama "While they did not go zombie-like, what happens when a human is used in the procedure that has some weird disease that mutates and/or they wake up with brain damage that causes rage and a desire to eat flesh? This procedure is to be used on humans severely injured, so there would be no way to account for any and all types of diseases in the limited time. Yes, it is a medical procedure. But what happens when scientists take it too far or have an accident as history has shown to happen time and time again? I am sure at least half the medical/science advancements in the past few centuries have came as a surprise/accident. Do you find this valuable? |
