"An M1 Garand is basically a .308 rifle, meaning that just about any 30-06 rifle cartridge would work. By that, I mean any rifle cartridge that is just under a certain powder load. I'm not sure on the specifics, but in any case getting a Garand and ammo isn't very hard to find. "The .308 and the 30-06 are 2 different bullets. The 30-06 is longer than a .308. The M 1 garand can be purchased from gun shops, gun shows, and from the government. Go to U.S.A.gov and put in civilian weapons purchase. I think thats the way my brother got his. The M 1 garand uses any 30-06 ammo. Wallmart, or any gun shop will have it. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Given limited choice im carrying my AR - 15 , and my beretta 92. Both will be easy to find ammo, mags., and parts. I have some more exotic guns but they can be harder to find ammo. and mags.. I think the best bet is to keep it simple.

M4 with a remington m870 masterkey setup (or ill just keep the 870 on my back) and a sig p220 auto for back up. Common, simple guns with good accuracy and reliability. If I can scavenge a 249 or 240 and hopefully a claymore or 2 from my unit, Id be very pleased.

"My brother has a M2 .50 cal tripod mounted machine gun, but it's semi-auto to avoid the class III license. He also has 15 Ar-15s. Some assembled, most in parts but they can be thrown together quickly. We have all the armorer's tools to install gas tubes and check head spacing. Tons and tons of 5.56 ammo bought in sealed steel containers, Israeli and South African manufacture. All good stuff. Too many pistols to list. Aside from all that one of my favorite rifles is a good old cheap .22 magnum. The ammo is dirt cheap and when you mate it with a good but inexpensive scope you have yourself with a nice little rifle for splitting heads like melons from a safe distance. Much better ballistics than a .22LR and it's still cheap and easy to pack.M2 .50 cal tripod mounted machine gun that's a semi so it's not really a machine gun - huh? Where would he have [legally] gotten that? Where do you plan on finding .50 links to fire through it? Whatever... Here's a simple equation for your. Take one flesh-eating zombie running towards you and add a generous helping of flame thrower. The result: a flaming flesh-eating zombie running towards you, catching everything else on fire - enjoy 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Well as everyone knows with guns you can harm zombies only by shooting in head or something and for that you have to be close or you have to be good at shooting....Well my primary weapon will be an long katana and the second one will be an normal katana (Not that long.)....Well i will carry some normal small guns too of coarse but hose i will use only than when there are many zombies and i have some distance between us...Oh and an small axe wouldn't be bad too...

i would use my SKS and my Remington 870 express magnum. The SKS fires 7.62mm rounds and the remington fires any length of twelve gauge shell. my backup would be my colt 1911a1.

Better stock up! P.s. Don't call it a clip around some ole wwii vets, they get fiesty. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I would go with a rifle whos ammo is easy to find and light to carry, since it doesnt take much to put a zombie down, a simple .22 wich is VERY avialable and VERY overlooked would be PLENTY to find and ammo. and the .22 bullets are good for pistols too. you could easily carry 100+ where other bullets you could only carry 1/3 of that.I would also be going for a shovel,(digging trap holes) hey a broken ankle in anyones vocab is very bad, now if a zombie has a broke ankle then its gonna be slowed down. gives you that much more time to reload, shoot, etc. *only when you have time to set them up* now a machete, bowie, kukri, etc ANY PRACTICAL BLADE i would definatly add to my arsenal. simple fact, a blade never runs out of ammo. same goes for spiked gloves, you practice and it could crack a skull open like a melon. *only for last resort or finishing moves, SAVE YOUR PRECIOUS AMMO* think, say you put 1 in a zombies head that is at your mercy and thats all you do, well that adds up 100 zombies later should you live that long, your out 100 bullets. id rather walk up to a crippled one and hit him in the head with a machete, hammer, whatever melee weapon you got. I'll use a 44-40 rifle (preferably a lever-action) with .44 revolver. That way I will only have to carry one kind of ammo at any given moment, and if one gun jams, I can just switch and retreat to some place where I can un-jam it. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
