Hammers are underated.

I see on t.v. all the time that hammers are used as murder weapons, so why not smash in the zombies face? I am fairly certain that the average human could generate enough force to kill a zombie fairly easily with a hammer, I mean I smash rocks and walnuts with the stupid things all the time, so why not some bones? 5  out of 7 found this valuable. Although they are listed in the useless weapons section, I think hammers would be invaluable. Tool and weapon in one with the heft of a sledgehammer. In allreality, I see the hammer as a blunt version of the Tomahawk which is listed as a useful weapon. 1  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Check out the legend of "THE BLACKSMITH AT BRANDYWINE", supposedly slew 20 Redcoats with a sledgehammer before he was killed. Do you find this valuable?

Sledgehammer is a terrible weapon unless NOTHING else is availible, it is just too poorly balanced. A carpenter or ball pien hammer is a good weapon. it can crack a skull, and it's a usefull tool for making sturdier barricades. Overall, not bad. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

i personally think a warhammer with a short spike on the back is an exceptional weapon. a blunt side to take them down, and a spike to take out the head, avoid the ones with long curved spikes though, they'd be too prone to stick. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Sorry LOW, but Byates has you with that Blacksmith of Brandywine thing; Results matter more than theory.

Agreed. But you'd have to be pretty muscly to swing one for long. Like a blacksmith, for example.

Except one thing, those aren't results that is an unproven anecdote, if you could show me a controlled experiment, THOSE would be results, but an urban legend is hardly results. Do you find this valuable?

Well try this:
Grab a hammer. Any hammer will do.
Now hit t table, one-handed, with it. ¿Good so far? Great.
Now do the same thing- With your other hand in the way. (I know better, I’m not doing THAT testing myself.)

BTW- I deleted your other reply. You already know why, so please, do a Holis and argue with me about it.

still a swing to the chest would knock them off of their feet, but a quick follow up would be necessary to finish it off. Do you find this valuable?

Hmmm... I would avoid combat with Zs with a hammer.
1. You might get tired after smacking the first one to death
2. You could possibly get the hammer stuck inside their head rendering it useless against other possible Zs.

Those are the only flaws I see in it, but yes, if it came down to it, I guess you'd use anything, wouldn't you?
