What would happen to a zombie if it wandered through the desert...? Would its skin just cling to the body? Could it "survive"? Do you find this valuable?

It would most likely dry out. If the cause of the zombie infection was a bacterium, extreme heat may kill a zombie because most bacteria need moist places. However, if it was due to a virus, nanobots, <magic> *cringe* or other form of infection that did not require water, then it might just go into hibernation or maybe nothing would happen at all.

See Resident Evil: Extinction - they seem to do fine in the desert.

they slowed down alot in extinction, I attributed that to the lack of water. Im thinking that the human body is about 70%water so as long as they are feeding there will be no dehydration issues

Im thinking that dry conditions would keep them "fresh" longer rather than a moist environment that would help along the rot. I know the Solanum Zombies are fairly rot resistant since microbes wont touch the flesh but think of any others. The dry air may keep the rot at bay but the gasses would build in all the heat causing some bloat and nasty blow outs. I saw a large dog bloat and burst in the sun and I believe it happened to a whale on a truck in Japan. SO Im thinking Desert would bake and pop some of them. Do you find this valuable?

A strange thought that just popped into my head a few days ago is, what if Zeds in the dessert simply dried out and became essentially mummified, could it survive and remain in tact for thousands of years life mummys or would the body become so fragile it would break. Your thoughts please.

(you must also keep in mind the viral agents are not bacteria, and may not need moist conditions to survive)
