You can purchase a Mossburg 500 12 gauge 8 round pump at most gun shops for $250. 12 gauge ammo. is cheep and easy to find. If your interested in a good cheep pistols theres the jennings 9 (9 mm. with 2 - 13 round mags.), for $160, or the High Point in ( 9mm., .40, or .45), for around $150. These pistols are not the greatest but they will work . You can also get several .22 rifles for $100 and up. 4  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

I won a British 303 in a poker card game years ago, along with almost 600 rounds of ammo. The previous owner had sporterized it and slapped on a scope.
The darn thing doesn't look pretty, but it sure can drive tacks out to 200 yards.

I also have an 8mm mauser I found at my dad's place after he passed away. He had stored a little over 300 rounds with it and a cleaning kit. It has a scope as well and it does fine like the 303.

Granted these are old war horses, but their reliable and the price was right. ;D

im not really "big" on cheap firearms but if your in the market Calico makes a few nice weapons. calico was really big back in the 60's they were the first to put a high capasity "drum" magazine on a low caliber smg. though the mags were prone to failure at first now it makes for a really nice little package!!
there is also Rock Island Armory, they make a really nice 1911 but if you want reliability in a weapon I would look for a used glock, they sell for about $250 on gunbroker.com I dont really like glocks but its true that the only malfunction on a glock is the opperator headspace malfunction!! (that means the guy shooting it is an idiot!!)
most AK-47's go for less than $500 now and everybody is selling "spam" crates of sealed ammo for cheap.

I have both the cheap and "name brand" firearms.

Along with those two WW2 relics, the other cheap firearms I have are two SKS carbines and lord knows how much ammo (massive bulk buy with some buddies). On the other end of the spectrum, I have Colt and Ruger sidearms and rifles/shotguns by Remington, Ruger, Winchester and Browning.

I'm not a big fan of the Glocks eiher, their pistol's safety is a little funky for my liking. For sidearms I think I'll stick with my Colt semi-autos and Ruger revolvers.

I agree with Tuck-Duck&Roll on the Glocks. I know it's a good pistol, fired my brothers, I tried carrying his in my shoulder holster, yes it is light. I'm just old school, I want my pistol to have a hammer. Kimber tac II. Do you find this valuable?
