an h1 would be nide if one was atempting to kill zombies and look for survivors and gass isent a problem. also with fuel being such a problem if ya got time why not convert it to a vegitubul oil engine? and onece renforced it would be more than capabul of killing a zombie going maby 15 mph. 2  out of 4 found this valuable. Hummer are good for quick get away, and mowing down zombie again if you reinforce the car, that mean more weight + more gas are require.

The Hummer H1 was one of the original gas guzzlers, but it was a diesel engine. This is a blessing in disguise. While the exhaust is terrible, the engine burns "dirty oil" which means vegetable oil, ethanol, flex-fuel, etc. will ALL work with the engine. This makes gas really easy to come by, pump it out of the back of an abandoned fast food joint, use the diesel at the pump nobody is gonna be using, or pump whatever combustible liquid you can find into the tank. And if all you can find is regular oil, just take some engine lube and stir it in there, itll make it work just fine. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

It doesn't have to be " dirty oil", veg. oil probably in not something high on a foragers list of thing to get. Take the bottles of clean oil and use them. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd like to see how many hours you can get out of a stock H1 running on all that crap before the fuel filter has a cardiac arrest... lol Do you find this valuable?

Gas is irrelevant in an H1, it's powered by a diesel motor. Fill er up with gasoline and you'll be walking.

Vegetable Oil? That requires a different fuel filter, and stronger hoses to resist corrosion of the vegetable, and in some engines may require timing changes to run properly with the different octane fuel.

Third, even a Hummer is destroyable. In fact, it ain't that hard to do. They're simple, well built, and competent off-roaders, but they aren't tanks. And as for reinforcement, what would you know how to do and what would you have the tools/parts/materials to do to it that would be beneficial?

For the love of great zombie Jesus, you spelling make this thread almost unreadable. In the future please spell check before posting.

Aside from fuel being a problem, the noise capacity would be a dead giveaway to a mob of zombies. Yeah maybe the hummer could take down quite a few zombies but if you ran into a mob, your H1 would turn into an expensive grave. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

My friend runs biodiesel in his Ford and he just took the filter out.

93% of major military vehicles would be ruined in the event of the panic because idiots would fill them up with gas. The rest would still be looking for the keys, lol.

My favorite part is those that do find keys will be confused as **** by the number of gauges and levers for things they aren't used to having control over in their vehicles. And all the locks for switches. And all the buttons.

It's easy if you've watched other people do it, but if you've never seen the inside of a humvee before, it can be confusing.

I think the Z's would mess up the front that if you were to make a mad dash and run a a much of them over since the hood is made out of fiber glass. You might be better off with big heavy duty truck that you can through stuff into the back. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
