Some of this stuff is BULL!
May 15 2008, 6:24 PM EDT
I mean no offense to anyone or to disgrace anyone's ideas, but realistically this page is full of crap. Bulletproof glass? Where exactly do you plan to get that shaped to fit your specific vehicle? And what about the weight of level IV armor plating and bulletproof glass? You think any stock-ish new car can take that? Self inflating tires? What? Yeah they do exist, but I think a bottle of the green Slime would work good too. Quote: 'Move the engine from front to back" So you are going to build a full one off custom classic vehicle only to destroy it in a zombie apocalypse... get a VW Beetle... the engine's already where you want it. And nearly everybody wants a .50 cal machine gun mounted SOMEWHERE... Where the hell do you plan to pick one of those up when the cities are on fire. I'm glad to see the imagination, but please keep it realistic... and know when to admit your current car is a piece of shit and say that you plan to steal something else when the time comes like SuperSoldierRCP and his bus. Anyways..... the rant's over.

Kiss my ass bitch! If you think that upgrading your vehicles is bullshit, then you surely think that Zombie Outbreak is also so. And by the way, I have moved the engine from front to back already. Go play with War-wikis or something if you want realistic. When the zombie outbreak comes, technology is surely better than now. And SSRCP's idea, You asshole think that some motherfucker Beetle can handle that if 20 zombies jump on it, well, youre either stupid or just pathectic.

Most of it wasn't too bad, though I agree, some of this stuff is crazy to consider. I mean, moving the engine to the rear of a car is no simple task, not to mention how it would affect the characteristics of the vehicle designed around having the engine in front. I know my hyundai accent is not an ideal vehicle for post z day activities, so I'll have to acquire something better.Remember K.I.S.S. everyone Keep it simple stupid 9 out of 12 found this valuable. Yeah... I don't really know where to start with you, Jerry. In fact, I'm just going to leave it alone... arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded.

I agree. Frankly, alot of people on here are pretty much just zombie nerds who like to come up with cool sounding ideas but they'd never be able to actually do any of it in real life. that's just SOME people on here though, not all.

To bring it back to the discussion -with out name calling- it really depends on what you're going to do. If you're going to go on the offensive - a heavy modified vehicle may be the way to go (if you have the material), but if you're dealing with a crowd of hundred or thousands of zombies you may still run into problems. I'm not too big to admit that I have no idea how to mod vehicles, let alone use them in combat. I'd look for something light, easy on gas, and had 4-wheel drive options with a lot of ground clearance to travel off road like a jeep (b/c I plan to head to the woods and rural areas here, I'd personally do better staying mobile outdoors rather than surrounded by zeds in a strong hold). That said, I will touch on one thing here and try not to go all "school teacher". All we're doing is theorizing here. I see the possibilities of how an outbreak could go down, and have a lot of enough interest in planning for it (for which I feel I've done well) and sharing ideas about it, but I'm not holding my breath. If you disagree with something or see a flaw it's fine to point it out, but calling people stupid is as useless as a bad post. If it's how you deal with people - then the people in your group might find find your head as attractive a target as a zombie's after a while of listening to the constant mouth - regardless of how useful you are (and if you go it alone you'll probably die anyway). If it's not how you deal with people then why do it here? If it's out of some need to lash out without physical repercussions - it's cowardly, and the hallmark of a poor quality human being. 4 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Wow this is crazy...it was just supposed to be fun. We all know that the zombie apocalypse will never happen. Its just fun to think about. If you sincerely believe that zombies are coming and we need to be prepared for them with real ideas and real planning, get help. From the sound of it StrykerPez, you just wanted to complain about the page for some unknown reason. You hoped that people would basically take what you had to say and just accept it. Well, you can't expect that, people are going to be pissed. You sit there and post about how the ideas are stupid and it seems to be focused on my ideas and jerry's ideas. Why? We may never know. But once you started getting resistance you had nothing to say. Now that someone wants to tell you that you're wrong..."Arguing on the internet is like running the special Olympics; even if you win you're still retarded." Obviously, you even too chicken shit to stand up for yourself on the internet. But, if you're going to start talking shit about stupid ideas you better hit up the other pages as well. I've got a post on the Fantasy Weapons page where I would pilot the Death Scythe from Gundam Wing. Unrealistic? Of course!! Entertaining to discuss? Of Course!! But, from the sounds of it you may want to let loose your rant since "this page is full of crap." Entertainment? Isn't that why we join this site? To interact and be entertained? Yes I certainly joined this site to interact with others that share my interests, but no, I don't KNOW that a "zombie apocalypse will never happen". People used to KNOW that the world was flat and that the earth was the center of the universe. Just 100 years ago we all KNEW that people could only live to be 50 years old. I'm no genius so I don't claim to know what can or cannot happen in the future. It's a bit pompous for you (The Professional) to assume that you do.

If you post an idea, be prepared ti have it criticized. However, on the other hand, if you have an idea criticized, take it like a man. That being said there seems ot be plenty of threads about fake weapons and other less real stuff, if your idea is just silly, why not just post it there instead of on a more serious thread. 2 out of 5 found this valuable. Well, OK, Mr. Professional. I was attempting to be the better person here and not get into petty arguments with someone, but apparently I'm " too chicken shit to stand up for myself on the internet". As for "We all know that the zombie apocalypse will never happen", please stop talking for everyone when you say this. There are many people on this site that realize the dangers of a world ending event, whether it be the metaphor of zombies, or realistically, terrorist attacks, meteors, earthquakes, hurricanes... the list goes on. This is honestly what we are preparing for. So in a realistic situation, when cities lay in ruins and roads are nearly impassible, your Chrysler is going to do nothing but get you killed, no matter how much you spent for your fancy LED headlights. If you may have noticed, I have not criticized the 'Fantasy Weapons' page. The reason? It is a FANTASY page. That's where crap like yours and half the other people's vehicles on the page in question belong. They are fantasies, dreams that will never come to fruition. All I was asking was that the vehicle modification page remain realistic (or, rather become realistic, seeing as the first post on said page was about self-inflating tires, bullet proof glass, and LED headlights, all of which are worthless after your car gets high centered going over a curb). And, no, I'm not just focusing on your and Jerry's ideas, plenty were ridiculous, from the Lancer Evo X GSR, to the F-150, to the carbon fiber Holden Ute, it's just that yours stood out as possibly the most ridiculous of them all. And after all "now that someone wants to tell you that you're wrong"... Speak for yourself sir.

I dont about dream cars but I thought this site is for putting your car in here with "Possible" modifications. And about Jerry's idea he said that the engine already moved from front to back. And that car I have is actually my cousin's. I could get it easily any time. So think that you put a car that you have already or that is your property. PS: Im not sin side of anyone.

Wow...this got heated. Gotta say that realistic options are nice, but in the event of Z-Day, even the realistic modifications may no longer be so realistic. Would you really spend the time and energy to modify a vehicle if Z-Day happened? Maybe once settlements start up and there is more down time form the day-to-day survival, these modifications could happen. But just starting out, I would say work with what you have and focus on survival, not modifying a vehicle. Too much time and too many resources are potentially wasted.Remember, possible and realistic have different meanings. 8 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hey Maricely you need help. Seriously you are in need of help. I'm not even upset by your insult, just get well soon.Haloeclipse I can take criticism well enough. But, I created the page in question so don't tell me what goes where. StrykerPez, its The Professional use my handle correctly or not at all. The point of the page was to make any kind of modification a person wanted, despite reality or possibility. Also, DON'T EDIT THE PAGE ACCORDING TO YOUR DESIGN!! ADD YOUR CONTENT OR DON'T, BUT DO NOT ALTER WHAT I'VE WRITTEN TO EXPLAIN THE PAGE'S PURPOSE!! IDEAS MAY BE AS CRAZY AS THE PERSON WANTS THIS ISN'T YOUR PAGE TO SAY OTHERWISE!! The point of my page was for people to have fun with their ideas. Not to have some douche bag come around and try to knock everyone's ideas. 2 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

I dont see where maricely insulted you.Perhaps the best way to clear these things is to just put a disclaimer on the top of a thread with your intent as to whether it is serious or whatever you want. If stryker wants to do a page on REAL/realistic mods, then he could start one. 6 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

I really wasn't insulted, calling someone pmopous isn't exactly a compliment. I just assumed that Maricely was trying to insult me. Anyways, you do have the right idea, this thing has gotten out of hand. StrykerPez just start your page if you don't like mine. I wish that idea could have come up sooner. Like I stated in the first place I just made this page to have fun, a disclaimer shouldn't be nessecary. If you don't like the page, don't contribute. If you like the page but not the content...then I don't know. You were right StrykerPez, arguing over the internet is like the Spec. Olympics. Making your own page on this wiki is a great idea if you see a page that you agree should be on here, but don't agree with the content. If you want to draw comparisons to the other page in why you included, or excluded something that wasn't on the other page - that's fine. I for one learned a lot from this wiki, not necessarily about zombies b/c we don't know exactly how they'll behave, or if that's even going to happen (but I think most here on this site are more ready for it than most), but about real world things (like the .22lr "ricochet in your head" theory being a myth which I thank Alicestar for giving me the info about). We all have our own talents and have something to contribute. There's a lot of ex-military guys here that can give good info about weapons. I'm not the end all, be all, but I was an Eagle scout, and was outdoors a lot, so I can tell you a lot about how to get by without a roof over your head. As I stated before [and not in so many words :P] there's no reason we can't be civil with each other over a difference of ideas and have fun.

Perhaps the point is that while some here have skills applicable to these “Junkyard Wars” monster moddies, some even professional grade skills, most do not have the “monster skills” to do it (I know I certainly don’t). Out of consideration for us without those abilities, perhaps simpler kits should be presented.

You people with your .50 cal machine gun ideas do realize that shooting a zombie in the chest/leg/arm/gut would do almost nothing to it...You have to hit it in the head. Having a machine gun s a waste of money and time. Also why do you need armor plating? The zombies aren't going to pull a gun on you. Your best bet would be to get shatter resistant glass and a small fast car. If you do have all the money you could want to buy a car and upgrade it, why spend it on a car? Buy a blimp! Get a single rifle and get in the blimp and fly away. If it's stocked with food and has entertainment you could live on it indefinitely. Its safer than a plane or helicopter because those eat up fuel extremely fast. Plus you wouldn't have to deal with the threat of zombies only other survivors and birds popping th blimp.
