How this 'll go down
May 16 2008, 6:32 PM EDT It will happen by space probes returning to Earth and spreading a space-borne virus (Shaun of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead), a cure for AIDS or diabetes or other horrible disease goes awry (Resident Evil, I Am Legend), or a disease like rabies evolves. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 16 2008, 6:35 PM EDT Resident Evil's virus wasn't a cure, it was a bio-weapon... by the way. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

May 16 2008, 10:58 PM EDT I think it'll be drugs. They're coming up with faster ways to make new ones all the time. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: How this 'll go down
May 17 2008, 12:45 AM EDT vanrutzz in probably right on this. Once it happens it's going to come on so fast the hows and why will matter very little. The chance that what caused it being sent out by the news before the power goes down is slim. Kind of like the tv show Jericho, everyone has ideas but facts will be in short supply. It's the only disease that I know of that's transferred by bite/scratch that effects things neurologically. From what I understand about the way the disease works it doesn't effect a human like it does an animal (for instance before a cure I think you just got sick and died - but didn't become violent). If that disease evolved (either naturally or artificially to weaponize it) to effect humans the same way, I think it would truly be the end. Essentially a rage zombie (probably not as fast, but still a runner) that could also cause cross-species infection - definitely a bad scene. Do you find this valuable? |

Jun 14 2008, 7:42 AM EDT On the preview for the movie, there was a billboard showing that the T-virus was supposed to prevent aging by reanimating dead cells. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: How this 'll go down
Jun 14 2008, 7:45 AM EDT You may be right, depending on the kind of zombie. Rage virus will be isolated on the landmass. If it starts in Australia, it will stay there. Resident Evil will take over the world in around 4 years. Dawn of the Dead remake will take over the world in a matter of months (on the movie, within 24 hours, most of the United States was taken, and Night of the Living Dead will take over the world pretty quick.
