A central meeting place
May 27 2008, 3:35 PM EDT
Their has to be somewhere that all of us can meet when an outbreak occurs. Somewhere central, like Nabraska. That way, its about aqual distance from coast to coast and border to border.

Actually, I think we need more than one. Maybe 5 in each state if you're in the US, etc.

Basicly im saying this becouse i live here but MN is good. We have the twin citys and Mall of America as a grouping point. (definatly not in the mall but in the massive areas outside of the mall.) did i mention i live there? also its near canada so if Shiz hits the fan we could escape to the frozen tundra's!

We have to remember somthing, heavily populated and industrialized just means more zombies, thats why the midwest is good, plus theirs a ready supply of food growing.

do you really think that in a zombie apocalypse world we can all make it halfway across the country to get to Nebraska? fat chance. several in each state works better because its hard to get around when 90% or so of the population is unsleeping, untiring flesh eating monsters. Just saying.

Personal opinion, but the Sacramento/San Joaquin delta has several large, easily closed islands, with easily constructed defensible perimeter points. But the geographical center of any given country really would be a good place to start. Do you find this valuable? |

San antonioPros: Lots of ranches all with game fences Guns and ammo stores EVERYWHERE Fireworks stores galore My family has a ranch with living room for 50-70 (cramped full) Everyone and their mum is packing in the country Lots of livestock for fresh meat Many people have lots of farm tools useable for melle weapons Most ranches have reserve gas and diesel for tractors Scrap metal is abundant Military bases in nearby areas (2 military bases, 1 air force, 1 military hospital) Everyone there knows how to use a firearm. (God bless rednecks) Many veterans live nearby Cons: Drought Poisinous snakes hard to come by medicine few grocery stores large ranches difficult to traverse on foot (Pro and Con) IT'S HOT Fewer paved roads then i would like Thats about it the biggest problem would be getting here i live in north texas and i have to go through dallas and austin to get here however by using back roads it is possible to get here and about 75% of the time you will be in the middle of nowhere. If able to get here however the positioning of my ranch house is on top of a cliff and the proporty is surrounded by a river. There are two exits from the proporty and fences are mostly barbed wire if you could get here you could hold it for years. 0_0 (long post sorry) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

The perfect central meeting place is Fort Knox! Tons of gold, many an armed guard, and super extreme protection, enough to survive a class 4 outbreak.

Fort Knox will likely be taken by the military...Anyone know Lake Havasu in Arizona? There is a little island that is closed off from the world except by London bridge. or boat. If not there, then pick a point in say Colorado? Ouray Colorado would work pretty well... lots of farm land immediately outside the mountains. Pretty well isolated... I think its in the south west part of Colorado. Do you find this valuable? |
