Jun 5 2008, 11:04 AM EDT Depends, if we're hosting it, it's illegal, if we just take the html code from YouTube or something, YouTube is being ilegal and we're fine. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Legallity
Jun 5 2008, 7:23 PM EDT According to the guy hosting it on youtube, it's public domain "The reason it's public domain is because the Walter Reade Organization failed to put a copyright notice on the original prints. Back in 1968, the United States Copyright Law required a proper notice for a work to maintain a copyright, but Walter Reade failed to do so, so then the movie fell into public domain and George Romero states that Walter Reade ripped him off." Jun 6 2008, 9:27 AM EDT i may be wrong, but i also heard that there's a certain number of years, i think 10 or 20, after a movie is released that it loses it's copyrights and all that jazz Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Legallity
Jun 8 2008, 1:28 PM EDT Here you guys go, hot off Wikipedia Note: This info came right from the Night of the Living Dead wikipedia page, under: 'Copyright status' Night of the Living Dead lapsed into the public domain because the original theatrical distributor, the Walter Reade Organization, neglected to place a copyright indication on the prints. In 1968, United States copyright law required a proper notice for a work to maintain a copyright. Image Ten displayed such a notice on the title frames of the film beneath the original title, Night of the Flesh Eaters. The distributor removed the statement when it changed the title. According to George Romero, Walter Reade "ripped us off." Because of the public domain status, the film is sold on home video by several distributors. The original film is available to view or download at no cost on Internet sites such as Google Video, Internet Archive and YouTube. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jun 12 2008, 2:36 AM EDT The answer is simple; We take amateur ones without copywrite. Then when we have dried up that source; We make our own. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jun 28 2008, 11:05 AM EDT I'm pretty sure it's legal by something I don't remember, I've seen it on other infinitely more popular sites with no legal repercussions. I guess it's 'cause it's a classic, whereas Shaun, while AWESOME, wouldn't be allowed :( Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 27 2008, 4:34 PM EDT I think I know what movie we need! Rabbi with a shotgun! Like Hobo with a Shotgun, but with zombies. So, its like the Rabbi is fighting through a small jewish town in germany while the Nazis are expieramenting with the zombie virus, making nazi zombies. The Rabbi and his congregation must fight off the armies of Nazi (Zombies) and make it to Warsaw, where they can find the anti-virus and hopefully make a stand. Kickass! lol, sorry. Just an idea I had. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
