Why do zombies moan
Jun 6 2008, 5:23 PM EDT
In land of the dead it was both reflex and a way to communicate
true most of the brain of a zombie is dead but part of it remains alive the part that lets it move

Also it is not that zombies learn but sometimes they remeber who they once were dawn of the dead orignal the pilot once he turned he led the zombies to where the humans were hiding

In Day of the dead orignal Bud rembered how to use a gun, shave, talk on the phone, he could talk because his throat wasn't ripped out

I think zombies can communicate and work together just not as well as the living

if anyone has anything else to add or want to write please do

Im just wondering how they moan if they can't breathe.
If a virus doesnt require oxygen I doubt it would even bother trying to manipulate the body to inhale and then moan, Im guessing that zombies just won't moan.... which can be alot more dangerous and a bit safer... They may not bring anymore with them, but you better be listening for footsteps.
If only they made that squishing noise when they walk like in RE.

Simple reaction of body movement.

Body moves, diaphram forces air in and out of now unused airway over vocal cords. Will suspect that *sound* from a zombied body is more mechanical response than "on purpose" vocalization or communication.

BUT... and the Big However is that we do not yet KNOW for FACT that there is NO "higher brain function" left, including communication, or some need for socialization with those we consider the Walking Undead.

Yeah I suppose that makes sense. Im thinking that the lungs need to be moved more specifically to inhale than simple body movement, but Im not an expert in anatomy or zombie anatomy.
We won't know until it happens I suppose. Man, zombies are a confusing subject when you think about it to much.

They moan because of the splitting headache- You know how hard it is to find a aspirin now, ¿can you imagine how much harder will it be when you’re brain’s rotted out?;D Do you find this valuable?

There may be a build up of gas in the zombie for a short time
when the gas is released vibrating the vocal cords thus causes a grown or moan

as a body decomposes it dose so from the inside out this in part is why corpses are imbombed to preserve and prevent explosion
