Forgot a few good ones...
Jun 19 2008, 5:11 AM EDT Mosin Nagant, all variants. SMLE Enfield rifles, .303 Brit and 7.62x51 NATO variantions Swiss K31 is the king of world war two bolt actions. Many more out there..... I just listed the big ones. The carcano is awesome, should you be able to find ammo for it. Very accurate. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Forgot a few good ones...
Aug 4 2008, 11:55 AM EDT Those are good, but there is one everyone seems to be forgetting. "The Type 99 Arisaka Rifle" It fires a round called the '7.7 Japanese.' Although discontinued, you can easily make a 'substitute' if you know what you are doing. It works very well, but I'll have to ask my father for the specific specifications. (I'll ask him when I get around to it.) And the substitute for the 7.7 Japanese does not hurt the rifle in any way, and is just as effective. Kicks pretty hard, though... :) Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Forgot a few good ones...
Aug 5 2008, 1:56 AM EDT Those are nice suggestions, but… The Mosin Nagant got superseded by the detestable AK-47, which has gone into such mass-overproduction that one can not but walk down the street, to trip on a dozen crackheads either brandishing or selling them. (Actually, it got superseded by the SKS, which is really a much BETTER weap than the AK, but I digress…) As to the others, they are presumably fine weaps, but either uncommon or had fairly limited influence on the war overall. This should not be read to mean that they should be excluded from listing; Just prioritized lower. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Forgot a few good ones...
Aug 5 2008, 9:24 AM EDT The Arisaka Rifle was the Japanese main assault weapon. practically every foot-soldier had one. Also, it's not THAT uncommon. I mean, it's not exactly produced anymore, but what WWII weapon is? :P Do you find this valuable? |
