We have more space to hide on the mainland then Britain and the US, (I mean the azzores migt be nice to hide in) however some countries such as Denmark and the Netherlands I doubt if anyone owns a gun. Do you find this valuable?

obviously you have never been to the United States... We have so much room to hide, it's crazy.

Not to mention the widest variety of places. We have deserts, sub-tropical rain forests, plains, mountains, bigger mountains, frozen tundra, hardwood forests... water... lots of water... mines... plenty of islands... Our only issue would be having to choose.

If there's one place in mainland Europe that survies, it'll be Switzerland. It has the Alps, and I'm pretty sure that they have mandatory gun laws. Do you find this valuable?

Yes, they also have mandatory military service, so all able-body civilians are familiar with the use of firearms and self-defense techniques. This is why this nation has not been invaded by any country, including Hitler and his Nazi's, since the Middle Ages.

Northern Regions of Canada would have the similar traits, but one addition factor: spare population. This can be both a blessing and a curse. Cold winters are also a threat, but if one is well-supplied, survival in the Northern Rocky Mountains could be relatively simple for thousands.

Switzerland is a very nice place to be. I think it has a lower crime-rate then the United States. :)

If the United States had the same laws, it would be a much different place. :P

Then again, Switzerland is technically a theocracy. So it all depends on what you value. Personal liberty not one for members of Switzerland.

I re-phrase my statement.

Switzerland is a very SAFE place to be. :3

A theocracy? According to Wikipedia, its a direct democracy. And economically, Switzerland is extremely free, although I don't know much about personal liberty there.

Does anyone else find it odd that we're discussing Swiss politics on a page called "America vs. Britain" on the "Zombie Survival and Defense Wiki"?

but you see, most people in Britain have been brainwashed and believe guns=bad or guns=more crime or death or something.

But Switzerland has higher percentage of population owning firearms than the US, and its crime rate is ridiculously low compared to that of US OR Great Britain, which has effectively banned any real firearms, and makes it a pain in the butt to get even a .22 LR Bolt-Action Rifle

In the United States it isn't THAT difficult... I mean, it's difficult to get a hand-gun, but shotguns and hunting rifles are still relatively easy... And anyways, "real" is a relative term. In the wild west automatic weapons were not common place. Rifles, revolvers, and shotguns were most common. Warfare would be very much resemble stuff like WWI or the wild west. :)

Although, people are pushing for stricter gun laws, but I expect to hide everything if that time ever comes.

You know what, you're actually correct.

I was under the impression that you had to be Catholic to immigrate to Switzerland and that the official religion of Switzerland was Catholicism. This was true until 1848 and before, but in modern times Switzerland has severed connections to the Vatican.

Also, addition, Switzerland may not TECHNICALLY be a theocracy but with 84% of the population being Christians, and 79% of those feel that the separation of church and state is wrong; it's not far from it. Luckily the protestant rift destroyed the true sense of theocracy.

So, it's all a matter of opinion, I suppose. If you're non religious, then you may find Switzerland to be a somewhat hostile place to your secular ideals.

Wow, how did we fall so far off-topic?

This is not about the ruling system used by Switzerland or Scotland, this is about where should you go if you live on the mainland of Europe. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
