RE: Being clean?
Jun 23 2008, 12:24 PM EDT It is important. Would you join groups with a bunch of dudes who haven't showered in months? Not only is bathing important for people skills, but if you go too long without showering, your body will start to rot. I'm serious. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Being clean?
Jul 13 2008, 11:35 AM EDT There are places even today that the people don't bath even once a week. The Idea of bathing regularly is mainly a Western idea pushed in the 50's by Johnson and Johnson to sell more soap. Many areas of the world only bath once a week or less. In Africa, the Middle East, China and other areas that don't have access to large amounts of water bathing is not a necessity and only done a few times a month. I know this doesn't sound sterile to most but you will end up doing a lot of not sterile things to survive. If you can't handle a little dirt I suggest you get allot of wet naps. Forget the T.P. and just use a couple washable rags. There won't be enough T.P. to go around any way. That will be one of the first thing people grab up. Dirty hands I live and grew up on a farm, we didn't carry wet naps when we stopped to eat. I am quit healthy and grew up just fine 6'3" and 189 pounds with a body fat index of 6%. And my brothers are the same way. Damn I can't handle it I actually agree with Super Soldier for once. Z Day must be tomorrow lol!!!!!!!!!!! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 13 2008, 3:04 PM EDT "…(I) live in rio rancho new mexico to all…"Super Soldier has a point; There are certain priorities. He lives in a desert- Short on water. I live less than a half-mile from a major river- Long on water (until about 100 years ago, Sacramento flooded every winter). You do have to establish your priorities on your resources, but wash you hands every day, and after you use the head (hepatitis spreads that way, along with leprosy). Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 13 2008, 6:55 PM EDT "thats though ingestion more of food and water"Well if your wiping using your hands or some rags, some of the E. coli (which is commonly found in human feces) may get on your food, if you use your fingers, or if you touch your utensils. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Being clean?
Jul 13 2008, 7:52 PM EDT E. coli has been around since the beginning of time. It is over rated as a disease. It hardly effects people in good health. Most cases of E. coli, that are serious happen to the young and old. It isn't like your going too be able to get an ongoing supply of T.P. and Sanitizers. You can make soap if you know how. You should wash your hands after you go #2. But what happens when you run out of soap after 6 months, and T.P. after 3 months. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Being clean?
Jul 13 2008, 8:01 PM EDT Bathing and everything isn't necessary on a daily basis, as long as you ACT clean. What I mean is that you avoid getting serious contaminants on you in the first place (as much as possible), rather than trying to clean up afterwards all the time. Instead of relying on soap/water/hand sanitizer, try not getting shit on your hands in the first place. Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 14 2008, 12:08 AM EDT "E. coli has been around since the beginning of time. It is over rated as a disease."I was also thinking about salmonella. If I had that during an outbreak, I wouldn't last one day. My dad had that once and he was out of commission for about three weeks. Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 14 2008, 1:45 AM EDT "Sorry I asked him about it and he said it was about one week. My bad."yeah, well your first prioritys in a Z-world are clean water and safe places to sleep. everything is second to that. most shyte out there like E-coli and salmonella and rhynovirus and rotovirus wont kill you, just slow you down a little if your in good shape but the things like maleria and amebo-dissentary will so make damn sure your water is clean and your food is cooked well done regardless of how you like it!! Jul 14 2008, 2:45 AM EDT I mean, sure bathing and personal hygiene can be considered a want and not a need, but with all this dead and rotting flesh around, theres gonna be serious problems for hygiene. Especially just with possible transportation of the virus through mosquitoes, flies, and other insects and their larva. Do you find this valuable? |

Jul 20 2008, 9:08 PM EDT " I have a theory on a self powerd pump that Im going to run through the CNC machine and see if I can make it work!!! ill let you guys know how it turnes out!"there are some high dollar cad-cad soft ware that can test your pieces&parts, then help with the cnc programing, They may be worth the cost. Heck even using a mill would be cheaper for a one off then a cnc. but then again that all depends on what you plan on making. Do you find this valuable? |
