How do you plan to make this?
In the event of a zombie outbreak without warning what would you do?

good overall but HOW? no offence.

Simple. We don't make it on earth!

No, seriously.

Concrete is cheap, very strong, and goes hard after 4 hours, becoming fully set after 24 hours. Reinforced concrete has rebar in the middle of it, which is an iron grid. (google it)
With some land clearing equipment, you can clear the ground necessary for foundations in about 24 hours.
FormPly is a non-stick plywood, which is used to mould concrete. Once the foundations are dug out, place the cut-to-size FormPly sheets in, pour concrete in, sink the rebar in, leave it 24 hours, and voila, you have a concrete wall.

It’s cheap- If you can get it. ¿Do you REALLY think you can get it after the skin jobs rise up? I doubt it.
OTOH- If you were to start building this construct well in advance, ¿you’d definitely be in a stronger bargaining position afterwards, would you not?

Well, you might be too busy trying to escape, but the last thing on any looter's mind would be bags of concrete. And there shouldn't be any reason why the water mains won't still work for the first few days. Ideally, I'd get a hold of the concrete before Z-Day, and draw up my plans before Z-Day, and try and make sure that when it's time, the fortress folds out and a few buildings are up before the first week. Good luck with that.

Why do I get the feeling you don't have much faith in it? =D

Ideally, it would be built before Z-Day. But you're going to look a little stupid if Z-Day doesn't come, and you're stuck with this big concrete fort...

Because I don't. lol
Worst case senario, you build it and they don't come. Then, your neighbors call you "That weirdo militia guy" and trust me- It's not that bad. (I been called that the last 25 years.)
Just don't collect M-2.

Why would I collect M-2's? That's a stupid idea... who would even think of doing that?

*kicks M-2 under bed*

look buddah, just imagine that im one of those luck powerball $273m dollar winners and that I built this on my own private land in nothern new mexico near the rio grand river. if thats what it takes for you to look at a consept and admire it for the thought that was put into it. realisticly though if you took over a sams club it would give you the main warehouse, a gardenstore/gas station worth of ANFO would give you the moat and the fence you can weld together from whatever you may find. the rest can be pieced together over time from supply runs. oh yeah I can get a huey at a moments notice because im just lucky like that. the chinnook on the otherhand may be a little hard to aquire. 1  out of 1 found this valuable.
