Origin of Fascination
Jun 27 2008, 10:54 AM EDT
My interest in zombies came about as a result of years of playing Resident Evil. I just found it amazing that zombies could come about because of a synthetic virus. If humans could in this day and age create such a thing, it would be astounding (and horrifying)! Do you find this valuable?

The true origins of the Skin Job craze was during the Russian infiltration of Hollywood in the ‘40’s; The fear of the communists ‘infecting’ Americans, etc. (It should be noted that documents released after the fall of Moscow conclusively proved Joe McCARTHY right; He’s still an asshole but he was right.)

Over time, this fear morphed into and anti-American fear (wow what a surprise, counter accusations). As the Cold War cooled between the mind 80’s and early ‘90’s (dead cold after ’91), the video game industry picked it up against “anti-corporate” banner (Umbrella of RE fame). Globalization and mega-corps were the fear (other genres would carry the same themes).

Then 9/11 hit like the Perfect Shit Storm; Again, a fear of infiltration by a dangerous enemy (al Queda) was discussed as ‘infected’ normies. Not all infected were unsympathetic, of course (DOTD’s Nadia), and not every good guy was a saint (CJ, believe it or not, was a hero, even when he pointed that gun at Ken on the roof).

Of course, the pattern is now repeating; America-bashers are using the same themes (and again, corporate America is the prime focus of their illegitimate wrath), so from here it’s all down-hill.

Google them.
My favorites were the infiltration of Hollywood theory and, more critically- That the ROSENBURGS really were guilty.

I never doubted the Rosenburgs were guilty. Hollywood infiltration wasn't widespread as you might think it was, ill find and show you the link somewhere.

MORE importantly:

I'd like to see a Soviet List of Spies & Collaborators or w/e, with all those who McCarthy accused on the list.

I don’t speak or read Russian, so I can’t really say.
After the fall of Communism in Russia, however, a great many GRU documents (GRU was the Commy Russian’s answer to the CIA) wound up in US hands. I do remember that one in particular, the black-balled director John SCHLESINGER (of “Midnight Cowboy” fame) was not only one of their agents, but in fact a paid agent who approached THEM, they didn’t have to reach out to him. (They apparently thought he was a CIA or FBI plant.) That’s the only one I happen to remember, because it was in a documentary on his life (that’s how I learned about the GRU documents that the Americans and Brits got our hands on).
Personally, I believe it was far WORSE than Joe ever determined, even though he himself was an asshole. The thing about crime statistics- It only shows at best half the story. Even cops will tell you that. For every rptd crime, there’s one that never got rptd; For every one crook pinched, there’s another that got away.
For spy work, it’s even WORSE; For every one spy caught, there’s more like 10 never found; For every 10 discovered, there’s only one that can ever be ‘proven’ (“knowing” and “proving” are always two different things).

As is with all espionage operations, the people involved are very good at what they do. :P 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
