I honestly don't beleive that going into space would be practical. For one, only a select few people are actually allowed to go into space, and they must first take training to get their bodies prepared for space travel. Secondly, even if one does survive in space when or after Z-Day, what would they do afterwards? How would they be signaled that the world is once again safe(ish) for landing? Yes, i agree that space would be the safest...but it's also the hardest place to enter, and even harde to maintain. Do you find this valuable?
