Pre teen survival
Jul 4 2008, 5:04 PM EDT hm, well im currently 14, and according to most zombie survival quizes, Id survive. Some adults will be worse off then teens, and vice versa. More then likely though, teens will be pretty lost. But my mom, for example, hasnt for as far as I know, even held a weapon. My dad, on the other hand, is a good shot, and hes in great shape. He could probaly run for hours. I would attempt to be with him, my nearest choice for a sivilian allie. different peopple can be different survival chances. You might have a freind whos a 14 year old boy scout, yet he knows more about first aid then other adults. You may have a adult that can run for 2 hours, but you may find a kid whos main hobby is shooting. In my opinion, teens have more free times on there hands, which gives them more time for usefull yet fun activities. Adults may be smarter or better in shape, but some of them dont have time to shoot or study and such. Its good maybe to have a mix. A adult could have a better chance to set up a decent barricade, but the kid may know usefull skills and such. Its not, on the other hand, a good idea to have any kids below the age of 12, as these will only slow you down. sibleings may also slow you down, but thats a personal choice you'll have to figure out for yourself. You may choose to abandon them, or die defending them, its your choice. In short, teens can be usefull in many ways, but may also slow you down. Jul 19 2008, 9:54 PM EDT I fear for kids who have not been trained in self-defense, including firearms. If SHTF conditions arise and kids are stuck at school, the school is going to keep them there until the parents come for them. If a large earthquake or other serious man-made/natural disaster occurs and the roads are unusable, nobody is coming to pick up the kids. After 72 hours, when the schools figure out they don't have any emergency food or water set aside, kids will ditch school for home or to nearby friends' houses. 72 hours after the event, enough unprepared people will hit the streets, forming groups, gangs, whatever you want to call them, hunting for food in homes of people not home. Expect it and stay away from such desperados. They are desperate people out of hunger, thirst, grief, a lack of prescription medicine, mental condition and possibly injury. In such conditions, powered by authority and a nothing-to-lose attitude, such people of all ages will rape, beat and kill the helpless (kids, the injured, the sick, etc) because no police are available (they have their own families to help, remember New Orleans). Do not be proud and think that you can will these people to leave you alone. If you are not prepared, you are just fun for them and you will be hurt or killed if you cross them OR REFUSE TO JOIN THEM. Gang mentality, learn what it is. Remember that some people won't answer the door, especially people who ARE prepared, and you will be shot if you break in. Prepare and stay home after the 72 hour mark. If you leave to your BOL, it must be before 72 hours is up. My kids all know how to kill with a dozen weapons, including my girls, by age 12. One of them was almost raped by lesbians last year but she remembered her training and "removed" two sets of nipples from the attackers which turned out to change their minds. Be prepared, learn from your father how to keep what you have and defend that of your loved ones. Predators will come. What will YOU do? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
