Meeting Places For Survivors!
Jul 12 2008, 9:48 PM EDT It would be a great idea to have a meeting place set up for different regions. I would even go as far as to say by state. So let's do it this way. We have a good breakdown of state-by-state locations, so let's divide this page into sections by state. If you read this page, and are interested in possibly joining up with other survivors, please post below as follows: Name: City (Of Final Destination): State (Of Final Destination): Location (The exact place you plan on holing up when you get there): Remember. Do not post to this area if you do not wish to have other survivors come to your location. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jul 13 2008, 2:29 AM EDT ¿What about simply making it the state/province capital? That makes the most sense to me… 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Meeting Places For Survivors!
Jul 13 2008, 12:58 PM EDT The problem with that is making a move to that location. Let's say that there are six members from the same state, and they're located all in the southern half of the state, but the capital is at the north of the state. Wouldn't it make more sense for people to say "Hey, I live here in Such-and-Such, Wyoming," and "I live just down the road!" And those two meet up instead of saying, "My place of final destination is at the capital, let's make a long convoy and drive there, even though I could easily survive in the place I've set up here." I just figured that there are more people spread out around various place instead of them all locally being around the capital. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Meeting Places For Survivors!
Nov 18 2008, 4:52 PM EST Yeah, i agree with Biohazardouswithin. make a thing for each state and then let the people in that state pick a meeting spot. no need to travel the extra length when something closer will do just as good. Also when crap starts happening, running to a capital city may not be the smartest thing. I often have thought the capitals in the sate are like the hospital in the town, where the most people will flock because of promises of government protection. Capitals=big meat grinders XP Also, possibly in the main thing for each state list the location of meeting spots in neighboring states. Lets say I live in NE kansas (i actually do XP) but the meeting spot for kansas is in SW kansas, very long ways away. but the meeting point in Nebraska or Missouri may be a short drive from my location. Nov 18 2008, 5:16 PM EST I started a Google Map with some rallypoints (it's far from complete as of yet though). http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104146365684782111163.00045a9047a1869267430&z=7 Do you find this valuable? |

Nov 19 2008, 3:25 AM EST For Southern California, I recomend Camp Pendleton. Sure it will become overrun with desperate refugees who will in all likelihood become more zombies, but there are litterally hundreds of small, fenced in compounds that could be easily fortified. There are also plenty of weapons that the resourceful survivor could procure from well secured-but now unguarded-armories, MRE`s, trucks that don`t require keys to start and hundreds of gallons of deisel fuel.
