Meeting Places For Survivors!
Jul 12 2008, 9:48 PM EDT
It would be a great idea to have a meeting place set up for different regions. I would even go as far as to say by state. So let's do it this way. We have a good breakdown of state-by-state locations, so let's divide this page into sections by state. If you read this page, and are interested in possibly joining up with other survivors, please post below as follows:Name: City (Of Final Destination): State (Of Final Destination): Location (The exact place you plan on holing up when you get there): Remember. Do not post to this area if you do not wish to have other survivors come to your location. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

¿What about simply making it the state/province capital? That makes the most sense to me… 2 out of 9 found this valuable. Do you? |

The problem with that is making a move to that location. Let's say that there are six members from the same state, and they're located all in the southern half of the state, but the capital is at the north of the state. Wouldn't it make more sense for people to say "Hey, I live here in Such-and-Such, Wyoming," and "I live just down the road!" And those two meet up instead of saying, "My place of final destination is at the capital, let's make a long convoy and drive there, even though I could easily survive in the place I've set up here."I just figured that there are more people spread out around various place instead of them all locally being around the capital. 10 out of 10 found this valuable. Yeah, i agree with Biohazardouswithin. make a thing for each state and then let the people in that state pick a meeting spot. no need to travel the extra length when something closer will do just as good. Also when crap starts happening, running to a capital city may not be the smartest thing. I often have thought the capitals in the sate are like the hospital in the town, where the most people will flock because of promises of government protection. Capitals=big meat grinders XP Also, possibly in the main thing for each state list the location of meeting spots in neighboring states. Lets say I live in NE kansas (i actually do XP) but the meeting spot for kansas is in SW kansas, very long ways away. but the meeting point in Nebraska or Missouri may be a short drive from my location. I started a Google Map with some rallypoints (it's far from complete as of yet though).http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104146365684782111163.00045a9047a1869267430&z=7 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

For Southern California, I recomend Camp Pendleton. Sure it will become overrun with desperate refugees who will in all likelihood become more zombies, but there are litterally hundreds of small, fenced in compounds that could be easily fortified. There are also plenty of weapons that the resourceful survivor could procure from well secured-but now unguarded-armories, MRE`s, trucks that don`t require keys to start and hundreds of gallons of deisel fuel.

or mabey, how about we make a new page. it will be named "Meeting Places For Survivors!" and it will have it from biggest to smallest. confused? let me elaborate: (this will be like the format of the page)countries: Canada (Other ones that im too lazy to list) so i click on canada and it takes me to this page Provinces: ontario (Other ones that im too lazy to list) so i click on ontario, and this is where the fun part comes in. after i click on ontario, there is nothing there. so what do i do? i make another button that shows my city. so you DONT HAVE TO FILL EVERYTHING IN, JUST THE BASICS, AND THEN YOU CAN LET OTHER PEOPLE FILL IT IN! dont know all the 50 states? no problem, let someone else fill it in. then more people will fill in the cities. and then, once you get to the cities, then you can list ANY PLACE YOU WANT! its local, and its just a couple of clicks away. but wait, theres not a person in every city on earth, right? well, who cares. we only want the people on ZSDW. like my idea? reply with anything, including critisism. (P.S. if any moderators are reading this, please subcribe me as a moderator. i have many ideas, and they are constipated because of my lack of power to create articles.) ~ZombieSurvival101 5 out of 5 found this valuable. I don't know. I would guess that there probably is at least one computer connected to the internet for every city.

I honestly don't know where I would head. I might try and hook up with somebody from here, but that would take awhile. I might head for my local airport (recreational, not commercial), and "try" to fly a Cessna or something, to get there. But there is really nobody who would want to take me. =(

I would just try to form a group of the people close to you to start and then you cna either allow other to join or leave them at your discretion.

There are several ways to approach this. Some of us will hunker down (in place) because that works best (protected stockpile, etc) whereas those (particularly those who are not as prepared) will need to find where they can get needs met and organize from there. Another situation: what if you were in travel mode and away from what you had stockpiled. a rally point is certainly in need.A sound strategy of declared safe houses may need to be established. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Bad idea. If you become emotionally attached to someone in your group, chances are they'll become a zombie. You know what you have to do.

Not if they know what they're doing, and if you watch each other's back your chances should definitely improve. Besides, being alone would drive you insane.
