Question... about animals...
Aug 7 2008, 4:49 PM EDT I was sort of wondering whether or not there was a set of articles dedicated to zombified animals yet. Cause if not, I think it would be really funny if there was. I mean, considering that there are thousands of animals on this planet, and that some diseases can exist cross-species. (human-pig) Although, I do believe that that zombie virus (assuming the virus is the culprit) should be limited to animals such as mammals, or at least stuff with a relatively similar anatomy (within reason). Stuff like insects cannot turn into zombies, but the blood-sucking variety can transfer it. or something... If we already have one, then that's fine. But I just wanted to make sure that if we didn't we don't pass off a golden opportunity to wreak havoc on traditional zombie lore and defense tactics. 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 18 2008, 5:23 PM EDT I have no idea... It just turns all forms of traditional zombie combat tactics on it's head. :P Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 19 2008, 5:10 PM EDT "And exactly how would you defend yourself against a zombie cat, or aardvak?"I'm guessing it would be spray and pray, or when using melee weapons, light fast strikes. If you got Z-dogs, a shot gun would work best, throwing pellet after pellet might get a headshot. This is probably the one circomstance where a automatic weapon would come in handy... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 19 2008, 5:16 PM EDT Big problem is that many have big heads and small brains. Makes it hard to hit anything vital. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 20 2008, 10:47 PM EDT "Would a zombie animal eat grass?? eg: a zombie cowActually The Mad Badger to answer your question, no they wouldn't eat grass. Zombies do not feed to produce energy for life cycles like living animals do. According to what we know the virus causes extreme hunger (though they do not need to eat) and violence because of the overproduction of certain hormones and that makes them attack anything living on site and ignore plants (I'm not sure why, i'm sure someone else can answer that here.), efectively rendering the word herbivore irrelevent. So if you came about a zombie cow it would attack you. As for how I would defend myself I figure they're just like zombies, but smaller targets! >:D Do you find this valuable? |

Aug 20 2008, 11:56 PM EDT "As for how I would defend myself I figure they're just like zombies, but smaller targets! >:D"Figure that anything small is just going to be a loud noise to them, and you are trying to hit something the size of a softball inside a trashcan. Some people that slaughter cows yearly have trouble putting them down with a 357, western history records many that survived a 45 between the eyes. Really hard headed. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 21 2008, 1:32 AM EDT Solanum, the virus responsible for creating zombies, only affects humans, and there have been no reported cases of it ever infecting an animal. In fact, animals avoid Solanum, as it is fatal to them, and not re-animation fatal either. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 21 2008, 9:57 AM EDT I think to deal with animals you will need heavier weapons and such. My only concern is the attack like the crows in RE: Extinction. There, firearms would be useless. You would then need a flamethrower like they had. Plus, Solanum is a type of plant, aqnd that book was a comedy book (if it had been serious it probably woulden't have been published). RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 21 2008, 10:22 AM EDT Hopefully Zombie animals are only interested in going after non zombie creatures of their own species. Zombie cows go after normal cows. If animals are infected were screwed! You could be sleeping and an infected rat bites and infects you! That would be a BITCH!! Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 21 2008, 10:39 AM EDT Yep. It sure would be. The thought of it sends a chill down my spine. There would be no such thing as safe. Not to mention zombie elephants can plow through just about anything... In the event they can get infected... Do you find this valuable? |

And of course the mutation question. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Question... about animals...
Aug 22 2008, 11:03 AM EDT Well one question that needs to be asked is will animals retain any advantages over a human zombie the animals may be an easier target if they are slowde down as humans but a rage zombie animal that would be a serious issue. Do you find this valuable? |
