Sorry about the confusion
Aug 9 2008, 4:00 AM EDT
I didn't add enough info, my fault. My concern wasn't for a "big boom" type disaster, but instead for the cooling rods being exposed as BanditJack stated. I meant Chernobyl to be a reference to how much radiation could leak into our atmosphere. I had done tons of research to add to this page but apparently some of my info didn't transfer as I had hoped. I'll do a scavanger hunt for the lost info. Sorry again.

I suggest you get rid of the "critical mass" part. From what i know off the top of my head, "critical mass" is a term used to refer to the condition of any given material just before it explodes, or begins an otherwise unstoppable reaction. (nuklear detonation) correct me if I am wrong, but that's pretty much all that I can find wrong. Do you find this valuable? |

2. rads will not kill shambelers
Jan 10 2009, 9:48 PM EST
the reason we get rag sickness is becuase the rads twist our genes and cuase errors when our cells dividesince zombies are dead and do not grow or heal thear cells do not divide thearfor the normal way of dying from rads will not work the only way they could kill a zed is if thear were tones of em like unprotected on the surface of the moon during a direct hit from a solar flare many cuase that would basicly cuase em to disolve 1 out of 1 found this valuable. you are half right and half wrong about critical mass. you are correct in the fact that it is used to define the point when something reaches is "point of no return" where its pretty much screwed. but spent fuel rods can detonate. you have to think that they can reach almost 2000 degrees unless kept in water which is constantly monitored. but when that water is gone or the proper shielding isnt in place you have a nuclear incendiary bomb waiting to go off

critical mass in reference to nuclear and radiological devices would be in reference to the point when the devices reach catastrophic caontainment failure.
