as long as they had people to eat they wouldnt rot because, if they can see you, hear you, smell you, then surely there immune system would work because to have senses they must have alot of brain function. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

depending on the source of your information (basically which fictional writer you read or listen to) then yes, i prefer max brooks and his style of zombie is from a virus that isolates the brain and takes full control, making it independent from the rest of the body, it doesnt rot, it doesnt die and it is still able to control the muscles and pick up certain nerve impulses, however all other functions namely organs, stop functioning because their only purpose is to support the brain, the virus does that now so it shuts them down and the zombie does rot Do you find this valuable?

the max brooks zombie would decompose as well, he wrote about it himself.
The whole body is dead, which is why body shots are ineffective, but the brain is in control, so the body itself functions.
Plus, decomposition has little to do with an immune system, decomposition is a chemical breakdown, as well as a body being consumed with micro-organisms, the thing is though, us live humans are constantly regrowing said tissues (I believe you've heard the whole "how many skin cells you lose" story)
someone call me out if I'm wrong scientifically anywhere, I'm drawing from memory

while it is true that he said that it decomposed, and it does, i wasnt debateing that, i was saying that because they eat wouldnt stop them from decomposing because everything but the brain is dead and the virus controlling the brain controls the limbs and senses. but thank you for being more accurate to Mr. Brooks word Do you find this valuable?
