Home science under attack
Aug 13 2008, 9:31 AM EDT
Victor Deeb, a retired chemist who lives in Marlboro, MA had his home chemistry lab ransacked and it contents stolen by the state. Reason? Pamela Wilderman, the code enforcement officer for Marlboro, stated, "I think Mr. Deeb has crossed a line somewhere. This is not what we would consider to be a customary home occupation." In other words, he wasn't conforming to the liberal ideal of what one should do in their home, so his stuff was stolen by the state.

"And what was he making that they got so upset about?"
Nothing, they even admitted that normal household chemicals were as dangerous as what he had. But, he had a chemistry lab, spooked the authorities so bad they had to take it all.

Blargh...

Well, I can understand why they got SPOOKED, I mean, give me 10 gallons of bleach and ammonia and I shall gas the earth!... Okay, maybe not the earth, but a small apartment building won't be much of a problem.

But what I cannot understand is why they don't know the stuff I know, and why they took them away...

House hold chemicals can KILL, and has in the past. If the stuff he had in his house was no more volatile then house hold chemicals, then, well... house hold chemicals are like... blargh!

If the man was building weapons, all he would need was some Pine-sol, a pair of rubber gloves, a blast chamber, and someone to say: "Now THAT'S the power of Pine-Sol!"

Jack, probably an appointed official, just know the right person and get the job. Kind of like that judge that called racially insensitive a man for referring to a local government office as a black hole.

Jack, you know it is very uncommon. Also, this is the same state that elects Kennedy and Kerry.

I know it's not very common, but it's happening more and more these days. Ever since global warming and so on, it just hasn't been the same... Do you find this valuable?
