Why I would survive
Aug 17 2008, 11:31 PM EDT
My plan is to stock up, then wait out the initial panic. I will then raid the armory that is just a few blocks from my house, and gather supplies then head to the military base close by. I am in a pretty good place, because I live in the middle of the praries in Canada, and it freezes in the winter. Because of my location, I can stand quite adverse weather conditions from -70 degrees to +120 degrees, from sandstorms to snowstorms, and tornadoes to blizzards. Everybody around here hunts, and very large deer are everywhere, like in my front yard, eating my tree. Getting weapons will be easy, as I live literally, 2 blocks from a military armory with humvees, tanks, helicopters, etc. I also live just a half hour away from BATUS (Brittish Army Training Unit Suffield) which is one of the worlds largest military bases that soldiers come from all around the world to train at. It does bomb testing and development, chemical weapons testing and research (which we all know means development), and weapons testing and development, so it is almost 100% assured that they will have every weapon I could possibly imagine and many that I couldn't, with Gigamafrozillions of rounds of ammo. They will have bomb shelters, fuel reserves, food reserves, and will be staffed by some of the most knowledgable people in the army. They will also be the last people in the world to lose contact with others. Contrary, to popular belief, we Canadians are not all maple syrup sucking, beaver coddling frenchies, who have never held a gun. Many of us are hardened, weathered hunters, with the occasional bushpilot or general adventurist thrown into the mix. So, it is becaus of those reasons that I believe that my chosen site for survival will be one of the best places in the world to take refuge. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

What is plan to enter Base post Zed?
Aug 18 2008, 1:20 AM EDT
Going to suspect that the Canadian Forces will be on some form of formal Alert if news of Unkle Zed's arrival in citys down south.

Do you have friends on inside, those who can gain you entry into arsenals, vehicle depots, dispensaries? Or will you have to hope that you can crash doors, and maybe those well defended by heavy construction and electronic lockage?

Been construction for secure areas, and in turn would advise from seeing them built literally from a hole in ground to finished "Here is the Key, Sir, Have A Nice Bank!" that you find more than one way to enter and access.

My hope for you in such a base is that survivors from Mil.gov will not fight to defend facility, but assist and aid those of you who "come knocking".

I have a few friends who work there, and know a lot of people who have worked there. The soldiers families are on base with them, so that makes me think that they will be a little more likely to open their doors than to just hole up.

Also, for your viewing pleasure, here's some vids of BATUS, the terrain, the equipment and just some crazy shit from there.
