Yellow, quick thing to mention. AVOID USING THE TOILETS!!! If the pumps fail, the place is going to smell real bad.

unfortunatly, no. But i came up with something else:If you lose acess to water, you're screwed. But what if you have a large tank thing in the mall, fill it with water (unless that's the source of the outbreak). If so, take some tarps up to the roof and rig them up to collect water. Move the water that collects during a rainstorm into the tanks. I'm not sure, but i think this is how the Japanesse put more troops on Iwo Jima than the U.S. expected. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "Yellow, quick thing to mention. AVOID USING THE TOILETS!!! If the pumps fail, the place is going to smell real bad."Maybe if you picked up generators and rigged them in a safer location inside the building then the water pumps would work along with the electrical...You'd obviosly need more than one and the means to fuel them, otherwise fall back to a different plan for waste elimination... "generators fail eventually."Ahh, good point...They'd be useful in their lifespans though, and they'd last longer if power was kept to a minimum but they do die eventually regardless of babying... It seems that you'd eventually have to leave the Mall and go somewhere else due to the lack of waste managment capability and eventual need for re-supply. Do you find this valuable? |

I used to work in a mall and gave this a lot of thought. Most mall stores, at least here, have gates, not doors. The location for a base camp/ sleeping area would be in a small store with no windows and a non-motorized gate. The gates are nearly impregnable, since most of them roll into the ceiling. This would be idea for an extra security measure afterthe main entrances are secure. Also, most stores have back doors for deliveries if an emergency escape be necessary.

I could make a page on IEDs, not on the explosive charges needed, but on the detonators.

"Kadski: I could make a page on IEDs, not on the explosive charges needed, but on the detonators. To Kadski: Not quite sure what you mean. OH! Oh, I reread it, and what you mean is the detonators and wiring on the stairs? Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah, I suppose it might be a good idea to put a section at the end of the page. It might still get Der ZSDW in trouble, but I'll see. To byates: Check out my response, here: http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/thread/2139672/A+life+line to SSRCP's thread. Not much, but still. . . waste could be catapluted out into the parking lot (if you can build a catapult). Or you could fling it with gloves or shovels if you can get the distance to make the shit not smell too bad towards you. Or you could get used to it. I sleep with 2 ferrets and their ripe crap within 8 feet of my head. I barely smell it now.

"Got a problem, idea, suggestion, or vendetta against me? Post it here. ~Jack~'s starting a similar thread in my Guerrilla Combat page encouraged me to do the same. So, there you go."A mall is a horrible place to go, unlike the 60's movies that had nuclear powered malls, our modern ones will be dark, smelly (unkept sewer lines) and most likely full of zombies. Hint, glass doesn't stop rocks, let alone determined fists for long. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"A mall is a horrible place to go, unlike the 60's movies that had nuclear powered malls, our modern ones will be dark, smelly (unkept sewer lines) and most likely full of zombies. Hint, glass doesn't stop rocks, let alone determined fists for long."Shatterproof glass is shatterproof, hence the name. It will stop a rock, and will certainly hold off something as soft as a fist. However, it can be pushed out of its frame if enough pressure is applied, such as five dozen zombies piled up against it, a car ramming it, or a grenade being taped to it. But I suggest that people quickly take precautions against this. Sure, the skylights are usually either normal glass or plastic, and the higher-level windows are usually just normal glass, but what difference does that make? What are the chances that zombies will be able to scale walls? Thankfully, virually zero. I'll end my reply here because, judging by this post, you haven't read the guide. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"How about: GET THE FUCK OUTTA THERE."One could do that, if one had their little heart set on it, but that's not the nature of this guide. This guide is assuming that you don't want to "GET THE FUCK OUTTA THERE," as was so eloquently stated. Do you find this valuable? |

Glass windows and doors can be spray painted to keep the zed from seeing you. If you need to look out just take your knife and scratch off a tiny section.

"Do you have any suggestion on where to go? I have some, but they have already been posted elsewhere."Malls are full of plastic shopping bags, as well as trash can liners. Poop in a bag, tie it off and either store it, or fling it from the roof. Or hell, you can even bury it if you want. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

DONT WASTE ANYTHING If you've got a internal courtyard or the equivalent, Compost the waste with inedible food wastes with additionaly soil for growing vegetables and such. If you've got some engineering and fabrication savy build a methane digester. If not attempt to dry out the dung for heating fuel (like buffalo dung on the praries)

"generators fail eventually."Yes this is very true. And I dont recommend on breaking to much stuff such as the glass and similar stuff cuz it will trigger alarms which will not only waste electricity but its like asking the zombies to come and do wat they do Plus it gives u supa disadvantage wen u want to find people or if ur stuck and and cannot be heard. and maybe u would want to save it forr like alerting the survivors from like its time for leaving the place or emergency.
