"ok guys and gals, thanx for the help. i got it figured out. i am actually gonna make 2 sets, one is zday, the other is small outbreak at a highschool. for the highschool set the chars will be the same, just one zombified and the other armed. it goes as such.prom king and queen, complete with sash and crowns, football players in full pads for knights, cheerleaders for bishops, teachers still holding a book for rooks, and children for pawns (its not mean, its reality, they wont know what to do in an outbreak, they will panick and cry, they will get et)

the zday chess set is as such, humans=demolition man for rook, motorcycle rider for knight, clergy for bishop, average dressed humans (us) armed for pawns, king is swat male, full armor, queen is swat female (very distinctly female) in full swat armor.
Zombie side is, zombie with rods, holes and missing a leg for rook, zombies wearing some platemail and helmets for knights, zed ina pope hat for bishop, zombie children for pawns, king is zombie in full tails tux, and queen is nicly dressed upperclass famale with tiara. one of the pawns will be drressed and holding a basket, the little flower girl, and one will be in tux clutching pillow with 2 rings sewn on it. basically, zombies invaded a high class wedding, and these were the only ones not entirely consumed.
now the fun part, construction, gonna be a low temp curing model clay that i can fire in my oven and new chess board, after being stained it will be splattered with red and brown stuff for effect.
