Quick, cheap, and dirty BOB
Aug 20 2008, 2:41 AM EDT
While at Dollar General Monday, I started thinking. What if you are without your BOB? What can you find to improvise a quick, cheap, and dirty BOB? So, I looked around and made a quick list from what was in that store. Here is my list and reasoning.Back to School Pack $8.00 - you got to put the stuff somewhere. Food Chicken of the Sea Tuna foil pack $1.15 Chicken of the Sea Pink Salmon foil pack $1.00 Del Monte Harvest Select plastic box pack meals - $2.25 Zataran;s Ready to Serve foil pack meal - $2.00 Hormel Compleats plastic box pack meal - $2.25 Notice about the above they are all packed in plastic or foil, no heavy metal, and they are ready to eat as is, no prep. In the case of the plastic box pack, you have a plastic box to re-purpose. Drink Bottled water 16 OZ - 3 for $1.00 Campbell's Soup Heat & Sip - $1.50 The bottled water has a screw on cap so can be refilled and reused. The Heat & Sip I have my doubts about it's value weight ratio, but it does give you a drinking cup after you empty it and wash it. Misc Westinghouse LED Flashlight w/ 2AA batteries - $3.00 Primary light Roll Duct Tape - $3.00 repair stuff Rival 12 pc flatware - $3.00 beats eating with your fingers, keep one set and throw the rest Rival 3 pc Knife set - $3.00 weapons, improvise sheaths from cardboard and duct tape, one in pack, one taped to forearm, one taped to calf. 8" skillet alum - $4.00 dinner plate, boil water, useful if someone offers you food. Fleece Throw - $5.00 some warmth at night. Handy Saw - $5.00 useful tool Just a few things I saw and priced, select your own from the local store, you can make a quick, cheap, and dirty BOB 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
