KR,

New blends of gasolines are so dependent on geography. Big Cities and some States require
a different formulation of gasoline and diesel than other areas.
"Oxygenation" agents, usually alcohol are added to help thin out certain testable emissions.
This in turn helps make that gas less stable for long(er) term storage.

Most modern unleaded gasolines are OK for a year, two if sealed in a jerrycan with good, tight
rubber sealed lid can. I've got some 20L/5gallon GI surplused "cans" that seem to do well holding
gasoline and keeping the volatile agents intact.

In past (I used to run leaded gasses years past, been better than a decade now since "leaded regular"
was sold) we used the better grades of super for long term storage of vehicles. I would use same in my bikes and powered powertoys for winterization, and in spring expect to find the fuel decent enough to run.

Now? Additives like "Sta-Bil" are a regular pour into anything going in to cans, or in turn winterizing the street bikes being stored, powertoys being settled in for off season.

Plain modern unleaded in almost any container seems to go "stale" even over the relative cool to cold months here when evaporation is not heat assisted. Sta-bil helps, but that fuel in spring is mixed into tanks of the trucks rather than used in motorcycles and lawntools.

Don't know of any reasonably priced fuel that can be stashed away with a good to better chance of it being reliable months, or maybe even years later.

A related note, a single gallon of gasoline, from refinery to your car's tank is in system less than a week in most
cases. It is not a noted long term storage liquid. Seal tight, keep temp controlled in cool as possible area, rotate stocks best you might.

Propane is easier to store long term, conversion is offered for some engines.

Ship fuel would probably last a bit longer.

The Germans would be lucky, they have BSF chemical plants to deal with those sort of problems....
