Going out on a limb here

There are no set rules to what this will or will not be. It could be possible that if infected the person will not die, just become a "zombie" on the basis that it hungers for flesh and doesn't function like a normal person. There will most likely be brain damage, but there is also the chance that whatever takes over the humanity will be organic and completely reversible. Think of it like mold. Opinions? please 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I agree with you that there is a chance that it is reversible, if it does not involve reanimating the dead. Infection of the living might be curable, psychosis after cure would also be a problem. I could see people having trouble living with those memories.

Yeah...People get suicidal when their GF/BF leaves them, think how they will react when they remember they ATE their GF/BF... Do you find this valuable?

I disagree. Brain damage usually is irreversible (I have slight brain damage from contracting meningitis as an infant). Whether the advance of the damage can be halted, however, is certainly another matter entirely… 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

If there is physical brain damage, I agree with you. There might be suppression of functions by the vector, or the vector might take over the victim without damaging the brain. In those case the long and short term mental effects could be horrible.

what it really comes down to is how it works, IT being what ever causes zombification. i personally look at the max brooks virus idea, it kills the body and reanimates it and to do so it destroys the parts of the brain that control the organs. then the virus itself controls the brain, thus controlling the body, if you were able to destroy the virus without killing the brain you would only have a corpse. HOWEVER if the cause, be it viral or other wise, does not cause any real serious physical brain damage and you were able to destroy the source. AND the cause didnt kill the host (i like the viral idea from any poit of view, makes things easier for me) then yes, recovery could be possible, personally i would rather kill them if they try to attack me, than pussy-foot around them to capture them, render them harmless then cure them unless it was necessarry for the survival of humanity

thats my 2 cents, dont spend it all in one place
