¿Can someone please explain to me why you might want an Garand over a Carbine, and a Carbine over a BAR? I looked over all three and have only fire a BAR (and only one shot at that, since I was about 10-ish at the time) I really was at a loss as to why the Garand is so damned popular. (Admittedly, the extent of my ‘massive’ experience with the Garand was TraCen Cape May, where they issued us de-milled versions.) Do you find this valuable?

Garands are much lighter compared to a bar, and can be reloaded faster(after the mag is emptied) a carbine shoots a lighter round, is quick, and very low and recoil and quite accurate. Do you find this valuable?

The Garand is a piece of WW2 history, it's probably hands down the #1 weapon that won the European front and was the main weapon of issue at the time...My neighbor who has passed away many years ago was a vet of WW2 and qualified expert marksman with one and even had one of his own...This old man at 75+ years would kill coyotes at 1,000 yards, that is no sh*t, I saw him do it. The BAR was a good machine gun, except it was fed with 20 round magazines and emptied pretty fast...Both weapons were chambered originally in .30-06 Springfield, while in a semi auto rifle was controlable, in a full auto rifle it would be like holding a rabid jackass by both hind legs...Personally I like both of them,as far as collecting. The Garand would be a good shooter and the BAR would make a good curio. There are thousands if not millions of those M1 carbines. The ones I have seen and shot looked and felt kinda junky and the accuracy wasn't impressive to me, anyhow.

its a straight shooter, and that .30-06 packs a punch, i'd take it over the carbine any day. the B.A.R was a fantastic machine gun in its day, but the mags were small and it lacked the firepower of the Bren. Do you find this valuable?
