A Midwest Team
Oct 1 2008, 1:04 AM EDT | Post edited: Oct 1 2008, 1:04 AM EDT
Anyone interested in forming a team for the American Midwest? I'm talking about Minn, Iowa, Nebraska, the Dakotas, etc. Right now my team consists of myself, my fiance, and most likely my father. I'm willing to add more people. I like the idea of our camps continuning commication for updates, tips, etc. I think establishing a central command is a great idea. Central command could be comprised of only those survivors who are physically, mentally, and logically capable of taking command in a WWZ situation. Central Command could be in charge of keeping up communication with individual camps as well as providing limited assistance to those who weren't prepared but somehow were lucky enough to survive thus far and want to freeload off the rest of us.

Central Command could use these people to take care of activities that most of us wont have time for, but that are still important. These people could do laundry, tend gardens, make/repair clothing, document your activities, etc. At the same time all of these people still should undergo some training after you encounter them. Central Command could set up a camp for these people and check on them, but not protect them 24/7 as they are not a priority.

Central command could also be a "safe spot" for people in the event that your camp is overrun and you need a rest stop on the way to the next, want to get a good night's rest before heading out, etc.

message me for more infor or to set up something here in the midwest.

I'm in Kansas, the southeast corner of it. While it would be a stretch to get to wherever your command is, But i would probably try to make it. Do you find this valuable?

You my friend are more than welcome. I'm Northeast/Central Iowa but will probably try to establish something w/ western Iowa as well. There aren't a lot of people in Western Iowa, a lot of that area is powered by wind, and it is within 100 miles of a underground bunker in Nebraska. I'll be identifying myself on the radio as Austin. From where I live now I know of access to two radio stations and would attempt to get in and record a message. This would broadcast on 89.5 FM or 96.1 FM. If you want any information to find us I would check these radio stations. They should start to pick up south of Des Moines. Do you find this valuable?

I dunno, post a team on the main boeard and see who's interested, I guess.

And what do you mea, "The Dakotas?" There's only one Dakota, otherwise we'd have "Dakoti" -- multiple Dakota. EVERYONE knows that North Dakota doesn't exist, and if it did we'd have 50 stars on the flag instead of 49.

I'm in Nebraska and would love to have a central group, there's an abandoned missile silo not more than 10 miles from my house that me and my mentally prepared friends could hole up in. There's also the school only about 14 miles away, it would be ideal because it already has shatter proof glass on every major surface, steel doors at the intersection of every main hallway, a welding shop, 3 buildings, it's own communication equipment, and pretty much every sucurity measure imaginable. The plan is mostly to hold up in the school until we have reinforced 2 busses for transportation to more remote or better fortified locations. I think we could meet up with other midwester's anywhere within 100-150 miles. Do you find this valuable?

It would be if it didn't get so ungodly cold up here. I would say central IL is maybe a good bet.

I live in Oshkosh, which is sort of mid to southern Wisconsin, so it doesn't get too bad here.
