"What is the general idea for type of camo? IE: tiger stripe, od, woodland, or whatever. more on the whetever side though."I think on Z-day, the ZSDW's uniforms'll be like the Michigan Citizen's Militia's: whatever you can find that works for you... My favored camo types are [I've own at least one set of each, I'm not talking out my ass]: Hunting camo; it fools animals with better eyesight, it fools people too. Tigerstripe: Depending on the material and manufacturer. M81 Woodland: Don't work very well up close, far out they're better. M81 Urban: When fresh, 100% Winterflage, not Cityflage like they claim it is... M81 Subdued: Works alright in urban areas ACU, Subdued: Works a lot better than the Subdued M81s, plus the upper arm pockets are happiness-inducing when wearing an LBV...The Tru-spec version has buttons for the arm pockets, fly, cargo pockets, jacket buttons, rear pockets and wristcuffs, only for the chest pouches are they that annoying velcro that goes RRRRIIIPPP!!!!! when opened...I try not to use them that much as they tend to betray my position a lot. The key thing to remember is: If you move, the camo's effectiveness is severely REDUCED. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think most of us are looking to a subdued armor. camo is more about breaking up the silhouette so that you look more like fragments then a whole piece. its only really good against sniper fire or zeds that are looking your way from 150-1000m off. your best bet is to just try and blend with your terrain, keep your silhouette small and make your gear fit as best as possible so you can run without restriction.

"NeutralDesertTanGreen built by Tent and Awning Korp for me..tent and awning korp is that real? do they have a site As of now my current pat is spec4rce by hyperstealth. ok but needs some mod an the material is expensive, They ony sell in runs of 50,000 yards or so. Also indvidual cost are high, then the fact of getting the patern in different materials like nylon, gortex, ripstop an twill. So now I'm looking for some thing not used by the current groups out there. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

leather welder's sleeves with 18 gauge steel bracers. a good solid pair of shin gaurds, a kevlar hood. a nice tactical vest, a pair of cargos and a solid but comfortorable pair of boots. In a situation like that i'm out to stay alive and uninfected, not to play soldier.

Back to teh subject... My position that the M81 Urban camo as winterflage still stands firm though, the only things equal to or beating it are the Russian Werewolf Sniper suit, the German Winterflage, hunting garb with white as the predominant color in it, and the Digital Urban camos.... depends on my situation, if my family is alive i'd get them out of dodge, if they were gone i'd probably fortify a place in detroit somewhere and work on clearing the city, i think because of its location it'd be a good place to start rebuilding.

"What is the general idea for type of camo? IE: tiger stripe, od, woodland, or whatever. more on the whetever side though."Well, I'm looking at the Digital Subdued ACUs along with any other colors I can get so that I can wear woodland or desert camo if I need to from bdu.com (good site, check it out) and maybe getting some basic padding or hard covers(meaning civilian hardcovers like biking gear and whatever) although you can actually buy military helmets. I'm thinking if it gets cold I'll wear an ushanka(Russian hat) and some biig military coat(darker color). Check out the Altama.com boots, too, they're the official manufacturer of the DOD. Best thing is to stay dark in my opinion. It doesn't snow here, so I won't be wearing white. Do you find this valuable? |

And a full face mask. Does anybody know if there's a mask out there that offers ballistic protection, filters out basic dust and stuff without having to change filters or else has a detachable gas mask? Eye protection would be good to. Sort of like an all-in-one deal.

....Yeah. Put velcro on a uniform that's supposed to be silent. What kind of ignorant shit is that? Example: Here, let me get the map out. RRRIIIPPP!!! You don't think they heard us, did you-POK! POK! Oh shit, MEDIC!!! Do you find this valuable? |

i suppose that's true, but if I have practicd opening velcro quietly. It's slow, but if you're doing it fast it means they're already onto you anyways. If absolutely necessary, you can remove the vekcro and put in some catches or buttons or something, maybe zippers.

I'd recommend getting rid of all the velcro from the ACUs, the Tru-Spec ones I have only have velcro on the two front chest pockets, but I never use them anyways so it's all good. Then again, the Army ACUs have a shelf-life, some more ignorance by the designers. Get the MARPAT [woodland] or the Urban [gray] ones by Tru-Spec, I've had no problems with them and I've been wearing them for at least a year now. Do you find this valuable? |
