Ireland (Dublin) Survival Plan
Oct 29 2008, 5:44 PM EDT
Alright lads, just posted this up so you lot can poke holes in it.Yes, I know that rage zombies would make it a bitch, but it's doable. If you're ever in Ireland and Z-Day comes, you know where to go now at least. Do you find this valuable?

Excellant to see another person from Ireland on the wiki. I was begining to think another would never turn up. Good luck in the competition!

Maybe, we have a lot of rural land which could come in quite useful. There are quite a few farms around Silent Valley in the Mourne Mountains. (I'm from the North of Ireland btw)

Raid n pillage! Do you find this valuable? |

Hey! That's only 15 minutes walk from where I am now. Haha! Small world. Are you up for making a survival plan of the whole of the island with mesome time? I've been meaning to do it myself but there was no one else who it would benefit on the wiki.

Then I'll combine the two in a national plan. Do you find this valuable? |

Mind if I help with the Belfast one? I might even draw up a Lisburn area one. One tactic in Z-day might be to get the Dublin-Belfast Train up and running.

"Mind if I help with the Belfast one? I might even draw up a Lisburn area one. One tactic in Z-day might be to get the Dublin-Belfast Train up and running."Aye, I was thinking of that. It would be far more easily defended than a road network, and it could be used to move militia into other Irish cities to rescue survivors/raid. The problem with N.Ireland is that the British Army pegged it, and there's less weapons up there than the South now. Where'd you get them? Does the PSNI have guns? Do you find this valuable? |

Aye, some of the police have glocks. They are being phased out for taser guns though. Most farmers here have double-barrelled shotguns, so i could raid them. I can also walk to Thiepvil Barracks in about 20 minutes. Give the army a few weeks then take their guns. I know for definite they have at least 3 helicopters and 1 chinook. Plus we have those armoured cars which can survive a pipe bomb and an rpg shot to anywhere but the front. That's one thing we have that the U.S.A. doesn't.Those cars could be used for troop transport through urban areas. Do you find this valuable? |

Actually, you wouldn't really need guns if you had them....Those Land Rovers have ploughed through rougher stuff than rotting bodies. Time to plot in detail... Do you find this valuable? |

Where would the best place to set up an Irish base be? Personally I would go for a farm somewhere away from the major citys. If we work out a starting location we can expand from there.

Somewhere near enough Dublin or another major city. The outer suburbs perhaps. It needs to be near the city so supply raids can be made. Farming won't start producing food immediately, after all. Not to mention communications infrastructure is mostly in urban areas. Do you find this valuable? |

Right enough, I hadn't thought about that.I suppose once we set up a permenant base and have a larger number of survivors we could set up several farms for the long run. Do you find this valuable? |

"Right enough, I hadn't thought about that.Aye, secure the population and various sections of the outskirts, raid other cities to rescue survivors. There'll be around 250,000-500,000 survivors North & South (5-10%) initially. Do you find this valuable? |
