I would probably pick a White Van, just because one, you got plenty of space in the back, two, it is pretty rugged, three, it can take a beating, and finally the type of vehicle that cant be stopped. 3  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

Air for the 6x6. Could be a problem in the far north.

Probably not, most modern air brake systems have dryers that cut the moisture down in whole thing, so at least the lines won't freeze. Sticking shoes or sluggish air bags might happen though. Without a working electrical receptical for the block heater in the north could pose a problem for starting a diesel engine. I have yet to start one in cold conditions here no matter how new or good without a blockheater.

What's wrong with fuel injection?

"because i can fix a carberator if something goes wrong, i don't know shit about fuel injection."
It isn't that bad, all diesels are fuel injected that's a good place to start learning. Even my 4-wheeler is fuel injected, eventually I think everything's gonna be. There are two different kinds throttlebody (very much similar to a carborator/ easiest one to troubleshoot) and multi-port (slightly more difficult, but still not bad). What makes fuel injection nice is you don't have to reset everything for temperature or elevation and when something screws up you can replace modules. I've own both kinds for years and never have had any problems(as far as intake is concerned) other than an injector going out and that's easy to both find and fix.
I don't know how good of a mechanic you are, you might already know this, but incase you don't I thought I'd pass this piece of info along. It may help somone else.

I really liked this one Jeep Wrangler, and almost bought it. Had an I6, 6 speed manual, 19 gallon gas tank, 4W drive, hardtop, and decent gas mileage. Bad part was my height (too tall); my knee was in the dash and couldn't touch the gas pedal without breaking my leg. Didn't end up getting it. I think I'd like to have that if the seat could go further back.

It would be nice for my personal survival. But if I had more than 1 person with me would probably need either another or bigger car.

For General Purpose [ahardy har] I'd take a Jeep, although I'd have to fix the suspension and all that so the thing doesn't go top heavy and tumble when I have to make a sharp turn that the Jeep didin't agree with....I'd prefer an older model, not as many electrical parts to replace, plus some of the newer models aren't as sturdy as their predecessors.

Then again though, my philosophy is to travel quickly and light, so naturally I'd pick the Jeep : )

For Devestation and Deanimation, I'd pick the Cheese Wagon, yeah the yellow schoolbus....Except I'd paint it matte OD green, that Cheddar yellow stands out a bit too much.

Now, if I did what I said I WON'T do, [salvage the local Armory] then I could come up with these:

General Purpose: Still the Jeep.

Devestation and Deanimation: Either an HMMWV or an APC whichever's available and in the best condition.

They make military vehicles just like that one just North East of here. In Charlotte, MI. They look like great Z-Day vehicles. It only takes about 30 minutes from my house to the factory. They also produce Fire trucks, and RV's.

I would probably use my 2007 16' GMC cube truck and my H2.

something like that would be sufficient.. if you fill it up once it will get you about 500 miles.. plus its pretty badass, strong, and can go almost anywhere
