Umm, see you in lockup, or face behind glass at Post Office wall...

Making of firearms is not unlawful, nor illegal. What you fo with such firearms is where people find trouble with John Law and his Boys O'Many.

as far as rifles go, assuming they meet the legal criteria for rifles, i don't think you even need pull permits to construct one, i'm probably wrong though, the ATF probably wants a piece of pie. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

It is where I come from.

But that hasn't stopped me getting my hands on certain cookbooks and other guides...

I can try megaupload, or send it directly.

Use Rapidshare as it works for most of the folks that try it...
It is an eight meg file, not too large for e.mail systems like google.mail

PM me, let me know.

Accurate compared to what?

It would be as accurate as the person making it, made it.

accurate compared to a factory made, computer designed model. i doubt some guy in his garage could top a team of engineers with million dollar manufacturing plants Do you find this valuable?

Unless the guy in the garage was copying someone elses work. Think of all of the weapons designed and built before computers.

Most guns were designed WITHOUT a computer, like the:

M1 Garand Rifle
Mosin-Nagant Rifle
Kar98k Rifle
AK-47 Assault Rifle
M-16 Assault Rifle
M1911A1 pistol
P-38 pistol
MP-40 SMG
MG-42 light machine gun
TT-50 pistol
Sten SMG
Thompson SMG
Bizon SMG
Gyurza pistol

The list could go on and on!

agreeing with Green and byates

there are these things called tolerances that are drawn into schematics, basically tolerances tell the machinist whats acceptable and whats not, while in some situations tolerances can be a good thing, in most cases they should be as tight as practical (i'd say within .005, but never having machined guns i wouldn't know what tolerances would be at the high end) when you mass produce things, tolerances can suffer, when they are hand made to quality standards, then you can have one damn fine rifle. Hence the extra money for custom built rifles.

so as byates pointed out, the gun is as accurate as the person made it to be.

well, i suppose you could make your own gun, but it would still require a few very good machining tools. i would prefer to maintain the weapons i already have though. seriously? the m1 garand was built by hand? then i guess there is hope. Do you find this valuable?

yeah and the fact that will really shock you is that alot of them were built by.... gasp WOMEN!!!!

you'll also appreciate that the british sten gun was made in an old bicycle shop.

sten cost roughly $5 a piece during war time
The above mentioned weapons are not only very common and reliable, but the base of many weapons systems.
The Mauser bolt in the Model 1898 rifle is widely used in many rifles to this day for sturdy and simple design.
The P38 operating system is copied in the Beretta 92 and Gyurza
I don't think the AK, M16 and 1911 really need any explanations.
A solid design doesn't need a digital medium to become great : )

Does anybody know if the sig 210 was built with a computer?
